Launching da Vinci 5
2024 saw the U.S. launch of da Vinci 5, the latest evolution of Intuitive’s multiport system, and the culmination of years of work. Every innovation in da Vinci 5 was imagined, designed, engineered, and manufactured by diverse, curious, and tenacious employees
Ahead of the launch, employees shared what it meant to them to be part of bringing da Vinci 5 to life—and that the impact of their work will enable surgeons to help patients around the world get back to what matters most.

More than a job
Working at Intuitive is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to be a part of something bigger, to apply your experience and expertise to innovative solutions that change lives. And for employees like Marketing Manager Lucas Zhou, it’s personal.
The same month Lucas joined Intuitive, he found out his sister needed a liver operation. After a scary experience with a previous surgery, she was hesitant and afraid. But Lucas helped her look for minimally invasive options, and she had a successful da Vinci surgery in Berlin.
“Intuitive’s mission means a lot to me,” Lucas says, “because I want to live in a world where everyone has access to high-quality care, to state-of-the-art surgical treatment like my sister had.”
This year, we were proud to launch the “More than a job” storytelling series, where Intuitive employees share powerful, personal stories that highlight how the company’s mission goes far beyond the workplace—it touches the very lives of their loved ones and themselves.

Every day, we work to make Intuitive a place where all employees can thrive, connect, and truly belong. This year we held more Inclusion & Diversity and Employee Resource Group (ERG) events than ever before—a reflection of both the support from leadership and the passionate employees who are proud to celebrate and share their unique experiences. Growing around the world
One of the most exciting aspects of working at Intuitive is our growing global presence. While our roots are in Silicon Valley, California, our mission of bringing minimally invasive care to all communities drives our expansion.
In 2024, we opened a new Global Capability Center in India and new facilities in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and Freiburg, Germany. Intuitive Fosun also launched its Shanghai campus, the largest research, production, and training facility in Asia.
Meanwhile, in Parvomay, Bulgaria, construction is underway on a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant to increase capacity for making endoscopes for da Vinci surgery systems.
