AI and machine learning drive medical image processing that enables doctors to see inside the human lung like never before. And with more than 100,000 completed cases since the launch of our first-generation system, we are just getting started. We've learned so much, and there’s so much opportunity ahead as we look to iterate, improve, and innovate Ion’s next generation. Our team
Our skillsets are as varied as the technologies we support. We build the software that controls the robotic system to the machine learning; the AI solutions behind the CT segmentation software that facilitates the surgeon’s navigation through the lung; and the backend data pipelines that power our digital applications and enable new insights.
User Interface Software team
The User Interface Software team collaborates with clinical engineers and designers to create a seamless user experience for Ion. The team builds everything from 2D graphic user interfaces to complex virtual environments in 3D, and they take features through iterations from early prototypes to production software.
Robotics Control
The Robotics Control team collaborates with hardware engineers to manage the complex kinematics, motion control, and sensor technology that enables the physician to command the system with high precision and accuracy.
Platform Software
The Platform Software team enables seamless communication between all the components of the Ion system and provides the core software functionality that allows other software teams to build their functionality on a solid, reliable foundation.
Medical Imaging Software
The Medical Imaging Software team creates machine learning and AI algorithms that analyze a wide range of medical image data. These algorithms form the core of many of Ion’s image guidance features, which aim to make Ion’s physician users more successful in helping their patients.
Data and Digital
The Data and Digital Applications team builds data pipelines to process the massive data set coming from the robotic systems in the field. They apply data science to draw learnings that help customers and improve products, and they create digital applications to share insights with internal teams and customers.
Software Quality Assurance
The Software Quality Assurance team creates test procedures to validate all software for FDA approval and delivery to the customer.
