Job Description
Job Duties
Platform Development
- Help design, build, and maintain both the frontend and backend of a new internal AI-powered platform — from writing your first feature to seeing it run in production
- Build and maintain integrations between the platform and cloud services, AI APIs, and internal data sources
- Write clean, tested, and well-documented code across the full stack (Python backend + React/TypeScript frontend)
AI & Automation
- Integrate generative AI and LLM capabilities into the platform — helping business teams find information faster, answer questions, and automate repetitive tasks
- Learn and apply agentic and tool-calling patterns with guidance from senior engineers
Collaboration & Requirements
- Partner with business teams to understand their day-to-day workflows and translate them into working software features
- Participate in requirements gathering, design reviews, and sprint planning alongside senior engineers and product stakeholders
- Communicate progress, blockers, and tradeoffs clearly — to both technical and non-technical audiences
Security & Governance
- Implement and follow secure authentication and access control practices (OAuth 2.0 / OIDC) appropriate for sensitive business data
- Apply data governance principles to ensure the platform handles information responsibly and compliantly
Engineering Practices
- Contribute to and follow team best practices — unit testing, integration testing, code reviews, and documentation
- Work within CI/CD pipelines to build, test, and deploy features to production environments
- Use observability tools (logging, monitoring, alerting) to understand how the platform is performing in the real world
Iteration & Improvement
- Gather and act on real user feedback to improve features over time
- Balance speed and reliability — shipping incrementally while maintaining production quality
Qualifications
Level: Entry-Level / New Grad (0–2 years experience)
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
- Relevant coursework: Data Structures, Algorithms, Web Development, Cloud Computing, Databases, Software Engineering, or AI/ML
Technical Skills
Languages & Frameworks
- Proficient in Python — coursework, projects, or internships
- Exposure to React and TypeScript — built UI components or personal/class projects
- Familiarity with REST APIs and web application architecture
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Introductory experience with a major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP) — even via free-tier projects or coursework
- Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) and deployment concepts
- Exposure to CI/CD concepts (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
AI / Generative AI
- Awareness of LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, etc.) — class projects, hackathons, or self-study
- Curiosity about agentic patterns, tool-calling, and AI-powered workflows is a strong plus
Security & Auth
- Conceptual understanding of authentication and access control (OAuth 2.0 / OIDC a plus, but not required)
- Awareness of data privacy and secure coding practices
Soft Skills & Work Style
- Eager to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders — can translate business needs into technical requirements with guidance
- Comfortable asking questions and iterating — doesn't need perfect specs to get started
- Takes ownership of tasks end-to-end, from design through testing and deployment
- Writes clean, readable code and values good engineering practices (testing, documentation, code reviews)
- Excited about working on real, production-grade software — not just academic exercises

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.
Base Compensation Range Region 1: $56 USD - $75 USD
Base Compensation Range Region 2: $47 USD - $64 USD

Workplace Type: Set Schedule - This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader.
