Job Description

The Logistics & Distribution Senior Project Manager will be an integral part of the Global Logistics Project Management team, responsible for implementing RFPs, COE initiatives, and Logistics & Distribution programs in the APAC region. This individual will lead cross-functional and cross-business unit improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, capacity, scalability, and efficiency. They will collaborate on project chartering, facilitation, governance, and tracking of other COE projects at Intuitive. The ideal candidate will have experience with complex project management, a good understanding of logistics and distribution programs, Centers of Excellence, project management tools, and infrastructure.

Essential Job Duties 

  • Execute projects identified by Global Logistics leadership within the required budget, timelines, and given infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain project management infrastructure supporting project collaboration (e.g., Smartsheet, Box folders, project artifacts) within the approved project governance.

  • Shape regional Logistics and PMO strategies and influence prioritization of initiatives.

  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks.

  • Monitor the creation and execution of project charters, stakeholder analyses, and process maps to aid in project initiation and planning.

  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project lifecycle and confer with project staff to outline work plan.

  • Establish work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations or phases, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.

  • Implement project communication plan.

  • Perform risk assessment and implement mitigation plans.

  • Monitor project activities, ensuring consistency, quality and integrity across the project and portfolio.

  • Ensure that project goals are accomplished and are in line with business objectives.

  • Assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority to project personnel.

  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure that the project progresses on schedule and within budget.

  • Write and present weekly status reports to leadership, including reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.

  • Present recommendations or ask for specific support to “go to green” of steering committees and leadership.

  • Continuously benchmark project management performance to identify improvements and achieve higher capability maturity in project and portfolio management.

  • Collaborate with upstream and downstream partners to understand process pain points and drive improvements impacting cross-functional KPIs.

  • Present project updates, findings, and detailed, prioritized recommendations to sponsors and key stakeholders in various formats.

  • Collaborate with Global Process Owners to implement system and process improvements ensuring alignment and consistency.

  • Execute retrospectives (post-mortem, lessons learned) in a timely, relevant manner.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 8+ years of professional experience working with various stakeholders worldwide and cross-functionally.

  • Highly proactive with the ability to work independently.

  • Highly organized with a strong ability to prioritize.

  • Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting in front of leadership.

  • Fluent English language skills (both verbal and written) required.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of BU or BU-facing experience, with sensitivity and commitment to business problem solving.

  • Demonstrated experience and ability to use “soft skills” successfully.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team.

  • Experience in logistics and distribution environments.

  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, or other regulated industries strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with or leading IT teams in developing SAP-centric solutions.

  • Enthusiastic with a passion for learning, development, and teamwork.

Required Education and Training 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, engineering, or similar, or an equivalent blend of work and certification experience required.

  • Excellent project management skills required. PMP certification preferred.

  • Intermediate user of LucidCharts, Box, Zoom, and Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, Project, Excel, or similar required.

Preferred Skills and Experience 

  • Familiarity with ISO13485:2016 and MDSAP.

  • Six Sigma training

  • APICS certification (optional)
