Our Human Factors team brings empathetic user research and rigorous testing to every stage of product development. We work directly with surgeons to ensure that by the time our technology arrives in the OR, it performs exactly as needed - every detail scrutinized, every interaction refined. Because when a surgeon picks up our technology, there's no room for friction.
An essential role in product development
Human Factors jobs are an integral part of the product development lifecycle—over the years, we’ve gotten involved earlier in that cycle, and we’re called on when an idea is in its earliest concept phases. Collaborating with our engineers, we have to imagine ourselves in the operating room, studying every move or decision a surgeon and the care team may make as they interact with our technology.
Meeting surgeons where they are
Our research brings us as close as possible to the operating room. We have sophisticated fixed labs where surgeons are invited to test new features and products, and a mobile lab that visits hospitals around the U.S. Whether in one of these labs or alongside our engineers, our team is driven by a collaborative and inclusive spirit, laser-focused on the humans that are doing the work that matters: helping surgeons help the most important person in the OR—the patient.
