Primary Function of Position:
Reporting to the Director of Evidence Strategy and Access, Europe, within the Medical Affairs team. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Clinical Affairs, and the Global Access Value and Economics teams to develop robust frameworks for the assessment and appraisal of robotics‑assisted technologies.
- Leads market access, reimbursement, and funding activities for established therapies and rapidly evolving technologies across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria (DACH).
- Defines and strategically shapes the most appropriate access pathways—including coverage mechanisms (e.g. DRGs, procedure codes, add‑on payments), HTA high‑quality submissions, and funding negotiations—to support timely adoption of MedTech and capital equipment in both hospital and ambulatory settings.
- Establish and build a strong network of relevant opinion leaders across providers, payers, and policymakers. Manage relationships with key national and local stakeholders, working closely with Key Opinion Leaders and scientific societies to strengthen engagement, advocacy, and alignment in discussions with national payer and reimbursement decision‑makers.
- Leading the initiation and governance of consultancy engagements across a broad portfolio of market access initiatives
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Securing optimal reimbursement, ensuring our solutions are properly coded, covered, and funded across the region. Analyze funding pathways, evaluate policy and payment system changes, and translate them into actionable strategies that support clinical adoption and commercial success.
- Establish and build network of relevant opinion leaders across a broad range of providers, payers and policy makers.
- Develop and execute strategies for market access at national and local level
- Leads, coordinates, or supports HTA activities, including the preparation and submission of national or regional HTA dossiers, engagement with assessment bodies, and alignment of clinical and economic evidence. Acts as the primary HTA expert for robotics‑assisted bronchoscopy BU
- Strategically leverages clinical data and real‑world evidence (RWD) to inform and shape market access strategies, strengthening value narratives to support coverage, reimbursement, and funding objectives across the region.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Health Economics training and experience within the medical device sector is vital
- Detailed understanding of the DACH healthcare markets, including government and policy requirements for medical devices, combined with an established network of key stakeholders (payers, policymakers, hospital decision‑makers, and KOLs) to effectively inform and influence market access and funding strategies.
- Previous Market Access / Reimbursement strategy experience, value demonstration, value dossier and value communication experience is also important.
- Fluency in German and English is also essential as this role will be part of an international Market Access business unit.
- Degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Life Sciences, or related field (PharmD preferred) (a postgraduate qualification is a plus).
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience in market access, health economics, or reimbursement, ideally in the MedTech sector, though pharma backgrounds will be considered.
- Strong understanding of the German healthcare and reimbursement system (experience with Austria and Switzerland is a plus).
- Senior‑level stakeholder engagement with key German market access stakeholders (e.g. payers, HTA bodies, policymakers, and provider decision‑makers)
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities
- Fluent communication skills in both German and English, with the ability to present confidently and write clearly for professional audiences.
- Requires frequent travel (approximately 50-60%) across the DACH region to engage with payers, hospital stakeholders, policymakers, and KOL
- Field reimbursement experience in Hospital setting
