Logistics Manager - Systems

Manufacturing And Operations

Company Description

It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful? Nearly 30 years later, that question still fuels everything we do at Intuitive. As a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, our technologies—like the da Vinci surgical system and Ion—have transformed how care is delivered for millions of patients worldwide.

We’re a team of engineers, clinicians, and innovators united by one purpose: to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human. Every day, our work helps care teams perform with greater precision and patients recover faster, improving outcomes around the world.

The problems we solve demand creativity, rigor, and collaboration. The work is challenging, but deeply meaningful—because every improvement we make has the potential to change a life.

If you’re ready to contribute to something bigger than yourself and help transform the future of healthcare, you’ll find your purpose here.

Job Description

Primary Function of the Position

This role owns the Logistical execution behind Intuitive’s daVinci and ION customer installations at a global scale.  Functional expertise is key to executing the most optimal plan; however, given the importance of delivering the ideal experience for our customers, this role also owns the operational narrative to executive leaders across multiple Commercial and Operations teams.  Translating complex constraints and opportunities into audience-appropriate messaging is crucial to stakeholders ranging from frontline teams to the most senior levels of Intuitive.

The ideal candidate is a strategic problem solver and exceptional communicator who maintains a customer-centric mindset and can move seamlessly between detailed and executive-level business discussions.  Leading a team of Coordinators while establishing scalable processes will enable Intuitive to reliably deliver on commitments to our customers.

Essential Job Duties

  • Oversee global inventory replenishments and customer final-mile deliveries, partnering with Global Logistics counterparts, 3rd party logistics providers, Field Engineers, Sales and Contract Negotiators

  • Translating detailed updates into context-appropriate messaging directly to key partner functions, from front line teams to senior leadership (VP and above)

  • Support internal and external audits in partnership with Quality and Regulatory teams, ensuring process documentation and discipline that delivers quality through the supply chain to our customers

  • Establish, refine and measure KPIs, leveraging data and predictive analytics to drive improvements

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Specialists, establishing clear expectations, supporting professional development, and fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with partner functions to resolve gaps in tools and processes that hinder efficient achievement of customer and internal goals at scale

Qualifications

Required Skills, Experience, Education and Training

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent 5+ years of experience leading people and process

  • Managing capital shipments through various modes of transport to domestic and international markets

  • Exceptional communication, tailoring messages to various audiences and organizational levels

  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing environment where customer and business commitments require creative problem solving

  • Strong relationship-building skills, influencing stakeholders without relying solely on formal authority

  • Proficiency and comfortability with various software programs (ie ERP, MRP, WMS, TMS, MS Office, BI)

Working Conditions

  • Primarily an office environment, with occasional warehouse walking and lifting (up to 35 pounds)

  • Regular collaboration with internal and external teams across multiple geographic regions and time zones

  • May require occasional travel to domestic and/or international warehouses or corporate offices

  • May require work outside standard business hours to support critical customer deliveries

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in medical device, healthcare, capital equipment, or other highly regulated industries

  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt)

  • APICS Certification (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD)
