Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
The Contingent Research Data Analyst, based out of Taiwan, will provide research, analytic,
and data management support to the Ion Custom Hospital Analytics (Ion CHA) team. Ion CHA
uses hospital-provided patient care data to assess the impact of the Ion lung biopsy platform on
their lung cancer treatment programs. The research analyst, based out of Taiwan, will work
remotely with health services researchers and market access specialists to generate research
questions, and will then be expected to answer those questions by independently analyzing
healthcare data. The research analyst will also support data cleaning and visualization activities
for Ion CHA.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Hypothesis Generation
o Generate research questions related to lung cancer biopsy and treatment
outcomes, costs, and other healthcare metrics.
o Create statistical analysis plans to derive insights from electronic health record
and other large health care databases to answer research questions.
o Support evidence generation by conducting statistical analyses and writing
research abstracts and publications.
Data Management, Analysis, and Visualization
o Using a scripting language such as R, write code to clean data, create derived
variables, merge/join/concatenate tables, identify missing values and outliers,
and identify data inconsistencies.
o Create data dashboards highlighting key healthcare outcome metrics by
leveraging tools such as Tableau, R-Shiny, Quarto, ggplot2, and plotly.
o Develop automated reports to share with internal and external stakeholders,
including market access specialists and hospital executives.
Additional Project Support
o As needed support GAVE team with additional data analytic and visualization
projects based on analyst interests and team needs.
Qualifications
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
Master’s degree in biostatistics/statistics, epidemiology, or health services research.
Strong understanding of real-world data sources (i.e. medical claims data, EHR data)
and observational research design.
Experience conducting analyses for healthcare research and writing
abstracts/publications.
Ability to program with a scripting language such as R and Python and to query large
databases using SQL.
Must reside in Taiwan.
