Job Description
Primary Function of Position
Participate in improvements in cost, manufacturability, capacity, and serviceability for robotic surgical instruments and accessories.
Support Industrial Engineering on continuous improvement projects for the production process, time studies, production lines balance and striving to maintain gross efficiency metrics accuracy. Support in maintaining standard time for all products verifying there is enough space available, and capacity installed as well as providing HC quantity needed to meet the build-plan among other industrial engineering-related activities.
Support other Engineers in maintaining the plant layout accuracy, compliance with current needs/requirements and readiness for growth (i.e. office space, parking space, enough cafeteria space, time clocks, etc.).
Essential Job Duties
- Support productive and yield continuous improvement projects.
- Support the efficiency review forum. Support Industrial Engineering in planning, analyzing and reporting production performance including output, yields, root cause failures, efficiencies, and trends.
- Perform time studies to support on determining standard times and line balancing.
- Keep production time standards updated.
- Support plant layout updates to improve productivity and capacity.
- Support space availability as well as the required services (time clocks, desks, parking lots, etc.) for long term growth.
- Support in VSM projects.
- Learn and enforce company safety policies and practices
- Adherence to 5S Methodology.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Travel: Position may require 5-10% travel, primarily within U.S.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal in English and Spanish.
- Good at MS software
- Basic knowledge of statistics and six sigma methodology.
- Good English Level (+ 75 %).
Required Education and Training
- BS degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.

Preferred Skills and Experience
- Basic manufacturing or process engineering experience with Mid/high volume manufacturing (preferred).
- Prior experience working in an FDA/ISO regulated environment (preferred).
