Company Description

It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful? Nearly 30 years later, that question still fuels everything we do at Intuitive. As a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, our technologies—like the da Vinci surgical system and Ion—have transformed how care is delivered for millions of patients worldwide.

We’re a team of engineers, clinicians, and innovators united by one purpose: to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human. Every day, our work helps care teams perform with greater precision and patients recover faster, improving outcomes around the world.

The problems we solve demand creativity, rigor, and collaboration. The work is challenging, but deeply meaningful—because every improvement we make has the potential to change a life.

If you’re ready to contribute to something bigger than yourself and help transform the future of healthcare, you’ll find your purpose here.

Job Description

Primary Function of Position

The Manager, Supply Chain Operations is responsible for establishing and leading the governance, quality, and scalability of critical supply chain master data across the organization. This role owns the design and execution of processes, controls, and systems that ensure data accuracy and consistency, enabling effective planning, procurement, and operational execution.

This individual will partner cross-functionally to drive process improvements, lead large-scale data initiatives, and implement analytical capabilities that translate data into actionable insights, supporting inventory optimization, supply continuity, and overall supply chain performance

Essential Job Duties

  • Own governance of critical supply chain master data domains (material master, lead times, sourcing data etc.), including standards, policies, and controls to ensure data accuracy and consistency
  • Assess, design, and continuously improve end-to-end processes that create, maintain, and govern master data across Planning, Procurement, and Sourcing
  • Lead execution of large-scale data remediation efforts, including recurring mass updates, structured cleanup initiatives, and data quality improvement programs
  • Define and enforce standardized access controls and change management processes for master data within SAP, ensuring appropriate governance and auditability
  • Serve as a key business partner in the design, implementation, and adoption of SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), aligning system capabilities with business requirements
  • Develop and operationalize analytical reporting and “control tower” capabilities to proactively identify, prioritize, and resolve master data issues based on defined business rules
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure master data health, process adherence, and downstream business impact (inventory, service levels, planning stability etc.)
  • Partner cross-functionally to prioritize data and process improvements based on supply risk, inventory impact, and operational criticality
  • Lead change management efforts, including communication, training, and stakeholder alignment, to drive adoption of standardized processes and governance frameworks
  • Drive a long-term strategy and roadmap for supply chain master data, ensuring alignment with broader supply chain, systems, and digital transformation initiatives

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, or related fields, with direct ownership of master data, planning parameters, or core supply chain processes
  • Strong expertise in SAP (preferably S/4HANA), including hands-on experience with material master data, and understanding of key planning drivers such as lead times, lot sizing, sourcing, and inventory policies
  • Proven experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks, including policies, controls, access management, and change management processes
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex processes, identify root causes of data issues, and implement scalable solutions that improve data quality and operational performance
  • Experience leading large-scale data initiatives, including data cleanup, mass updates, and cross-functional data standardization efforts
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with proficiency in tools such as SQL, Excel, or similar, and ability to translate data into actionable, business-relevant insights
  • Track record of influencing cross-functional stakeholders (Planning, Procurement, Sourcing, IT) and driving alignment in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex data and process concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Required Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
  • Advanced training or demonstrated experience in supply chain systems, master data management, or enterprise process design

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) or similar enterprise data governance platforms, including implementation or business adoption
  • Advanced analytics experience, including building dashboards, data models, or reporting solutions (SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI etc.) to monitor and improve data quality
  • Experience designing and implementing “control tower” or data monitoring capabilities that drive proactive, prescriptive actions
  • Strong understanding of supply chain planning concepts, including MRP, inventory management, lead time governance, and supply/demand alignment
  • Experience working with enterprise data warehouses (EDW) and partnering with data engineering teams on data architecture and integration
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional transformation initiatives, particularly in process standardization and data governance
  • Experience developing and tracking master data quality metrics and linking data performance to business outcomes (inventory, service levels, planning stability)
  • Background in regulated industries (medical device, pharma, aerospace etc.) with an understanding of compliance and audit requirements related to data governance
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies to process and data improvement
  • APICS (CPIM, CSCP) or similar supply chain certification
