Job Description

Primary Function of Position

The IT Sourcing Manager is responsible for leading sourcing initiatives across Intuitive's Information Technology spend categories, including Software/SaaS, Cloud, Hardware, Telecommunications, and Technology Services. This role partners with IT, Finance, Contracts COE, Security, Privacy, and business stakeholders to execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost, mitigate risk, and deliver measurable business value.

The IT Sourcing Manager independently manages sourcing and contracting activities throughout the procurement lifecycle, including spend analysis, supplier and market research, RFx execution, negotiations, business case development, contract management support, and supplier performance management. This individual will lead multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously and support category management objectives across assigned technology spend categories.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong analytical, negotiation, project management, and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Organization Overview

This role reports to the Director, Technology Sourcing within the Strategic Sourcing & Category Management team, a key function of Intuitive's Global Enterprise Procurement (GEP) organization.

The Technology Sourcing team supports technology and IT procurement requirements across Intuitive's global operations and is organized to provide deep expertise across the following categories:

  • Cloud, AI & Emerging Technologies

  • Cybersecurity

  • Network & Infrastructure

  • Software & SaaS

  • Telecommunications & Connectivity

  • Technology Services & Outsourcing

The IT Sourcing Manager will support one or more of these categories and collaborate across the broader Technology Sourcing team to drive sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and category management initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing

  • Lead sourcing initiatives across assigned IT categories, including Software/SaaS, Cloud, Hardware, Telecommunications, and Technology Services.

  • Independently manage RFx and sourcing activities from initiation through contract execution for low-to-high complexity projects.

  • Conduct supplier assessments, market intelligence research, benchmarking, and spend analysis to identify sourcing opportunities and support business decision-making.

  • Develop sourcing strategies, business cases, negotiation plans, and award recommendations that align with stakeholder objectives.

  • Analyze supplier proposals and commercial models, including pricing, licensing structures, total cost of ownership, and associated business risks.

  • Facilitate supplier selection activities and drive alignment among cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Lead sourcing project meetings and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and communication plans.

  • Support category strategy initiatives by providing market intelligence, supplier insights, spend analysis, and sourcing recommendations.

Contract Negotiation and Commercial Management

  • Lead commercial negotiations for technology agreements, including software, SaaS, cloud, hardware, maintenance, professional services, and telecommunications contracts.

  • Partner with Contracts COE, Security, Privacy, Finance, and business stakeholders to negotiate favorable commercial terms while mitigating risk to the company.

  • Evaluate contractual obligations, pricing structures, service levels, and business requirements to identify opportunities for optimization.

  • Support contract renewals, supplier consolidations, competitive sourcing events, and commercial restructuring initiatives.

  • Ensure sourcing activities comply with company policies, procurement procedures, and governance requirements.

  • Assist stakeholders in evaluating supplier proposals and contract alternatives to support informed decision-making.

Supplier and Category Management

  • Support supplier relationship management activities for strategic and preferred suppliers.

  • Participate in executive business reviews and supplier performance discussions.

  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and assist in identifying and addressing service, quality, delivery, and commercial concerns.

  • Conduct supplier risk assessments and escalate potential risks to management and stakeholders as appropriate.

  • Support category management initiatives through spend analytics, market trend analysis, supplier segmentation, and opportunity identification.

  • Collaborate with IT portfolio owners and business stakeholders to execute sourcing plans and category initiatives.

Analytics and Business Support

  • Develop spend analysis, supplier benchmarking, cost models, savings analyses, and business cases to support sourcing recommendations.

  • Prepare executive-level presentations, sourcing summaries, negotiation updates, and stakeholder communications.

  • Track sourcing project status, value delivery, savings achievement, and key performance metrics.

  • Support annual sourcing roadmaps, budget planning, and category planning activities.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance sourcing effectiveness, stakeholder experience, and procurement processes.

  • Provide support for ad hoc sourcing, contracting, and supplier-related requests.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Systems, or related discipline preferred.

  • 6+ years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years supporting IT strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, vendor management, or technology contract negotiations.

  • Experience sourcing and negotiating across multiple IT spend categories, including Software/SaaS, Cloud, Hardware, Telecommunications, or Technology Services.

  • Knowledge of software licensing models, cloud consumption-based pricing, and technology supplier management practices.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather data, perform financial analysis, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead sourcing projects and drive results through cross-functional collaboration.

  • Experience conducting supplier evaluations, market research, benchmarking, and competitive sourcing events.

  • Strong contract and commercial negotiation skills.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus across multiple functions and organizational levels.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating in a team environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment with changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a regulated industry or global organization.

  • Familiarity with procurement, contract lifecycle management, P2P, ERP, and spend analytics tools.

  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPSD, CPCM, PMP, or equivalent.

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.

Base Compensation Range Region 1: $144.300 USD - $207.700 USD
Base Compensation Range Region 2: $122.700 USD - $176.500 USD
Shift: Day
Workplace Type: Set Schedule - This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader.
