Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The role will be an integral part of the Malaysia start up team. This individual will co-lead cross-functional and cross-business unit improvement initiatives focused on overseeing MSRB (Manufacturing Site Review Board) and Global Operations Space Planning. This person is responsible for facilitating alignment on the execution strategy particularly for site activation and decommission projects, coordinating and/or facilitating project assurance or after-action reviews (AARs) on site activations and decommissions or other projects as assigned, and managing site activation and/or decommission projects as assigned
Essential Job Duties
Strategy alignment
Facilitate strategy discussions to attain full alignment on plan of action for site activation or decommission projects with particular attention to transfer sequencing, operational and commercial constraints (such as inventory availability, regional requirements, contractual obligations) and regulatory and compliance requirements
Support ongoing alignment between regulatory, master scheduling, engineering, and operations during quarterly SIOP cycles
Project management of manufacturing site activations & decommissions
Coordinate site activation and decommission projects as assigned, maintaining effective collaboration with other PMOs supporting the project while identifying key milestones, managing timelines and risks, and resolving conflicts to drive towards successful outcomes
Project network support
Maintain portfolio network plans as assigned, ensuring correct interproject dependencies are identified and reflected, and project portfolio impact classifications are correct
Support or may facilitate after action reviews (AAR) with project leaders and teams to capture lessons learned and best practices, feeding this back into MSRB processes, tools, and templates
Perform project assurance activities for projects on MSRB portfolio network plans, or as assigned, to identify and support risk mitigation and issue resolution
Support continuous improvement of MSRB processes and project management tools, manage metrics
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated collaborative nature to identify the most effective solutions
Proven ability to build adequate breadth of knowledge outside area of expertise to support good decision-making
Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
Ability to manage complex projects and initiatives
Project management skills – good understanding of project management principles, methodologies and tools including the development and maintenance of project schedules and other key project documentation
Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, engineering or related function supporting an operation
Adaptable to changing priorities and business needs
Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Required Education and Training
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or similar, or an equivalent blend of work and certification experience required.
Excellent project management skills required. PMP certification preferred.
Intermediate user of Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, Project, Excel, or similar required
Preferred Skills and Experience
Familiarity with ISO13485:2016 and MDSAP.
Six Sigma training
Experience in medical device industry and/or another heavily regulated industry
Experience navigating the regulatory landscape with regards to medical device manufacturing
Project Management Professional (PMP) or other similar certification
Past experience leading or participating in a building or site activation
Past experience leading or participating as a core team member on a product transfer between sites
