Job Description
Primary Function of the Position
This position is responsible for the development and execution of tactical clinical marketing initiatives to drive da Vinci procedure adoption across prioritized specialties and focus procedures in India. The role partners closely with commercial teams to translate market insights into programs that drive surgeon awareness, dV utilization, and advocacy.
The individual will lead market understanding through field immersion, customer insight generation, segmentation, persona development, and value messaging. This role is expected to build scalable clinical marketing programs and assets, collaborate with external surgeons, society leaders, and care teams, and work cross-functionally with sales, training, clinical affairs, market access, legal, regulatory, and compliance to deliver measurable business impact in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Duties
Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS) Value Proposition
- Identify, develop, and engage surgeon champions and key opinion leaders who can articulate compelling clinical, economic, and operational value messages to advance da Vinci adoption.
- Design and scale peer-to-peer programs, case observation opportunities, proctorships, webinars, workshops, and educational pathways.
- Develop and execute engagement plans for key specialty societies, conferences, symposia, and academic forums to strengthen Intuitive’s clinical presence and influence.
- Translate global best practices into locally relevant programs, tools, and content that support procedural growth and long-term market development.
Sales Enablement
- Partner with commercial learning and sales teams to strengthen articulation of procedure value, objection handling, and customer engagement across target segments.
- Develop high-impact sales enablement tools including presentations, brochures, digital content, videos, handouts, and clinical playbooks that support adoption conversations.
- Collaborate with regional and global marketing teams to localize and amplify clinical marketing messages, campaigns, and assets.
Enable and develop dV Ecosystem
- Spend time in the field with customers and sales teams to understand specialty-specific insights. Leverage these insights to build a robust dV RAS ecosystem.
- Build strong relationships with surgeons, care teams, and health system stakeholders to position Intuitive as a trusted partner in intelligent surgical care delivery.
- Support the generation and dissemination of clinical and economic evidence in partnership with market access, clinical affairs, and other functions to reinforce value-based adoption.
Marketing Capabilities:
- Use qualitative and quantitative analysis to understand market and procedure trends – integrate these trends to build and modify strategy.
- Support or lead new procedure and product introductions, including readiness planning, launch execution, and post-launch optimization.
- Guide digital and omnichannel clinical marketing engagement across web, email, social, and field channels for physician, patient, and provider audiences, where applicable.
- Drive strong cross-functional collaboration and disciplined execution across sales, training, medical, regulatory, legal, and compliance stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- More than 5 years of total experience in sales and/or marketing function in a medical device, or healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of healthcare ecosystems, surgical procedures, and customer journeys, with proven ability to translate insights into adoption-focused marketing programs.
- Demonstrated strength in strategic thinking, project management, prioritization, and execution in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and build long-term relationships.
- Ability to travel extensively within India; international travel may be required.
Required Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in life sciences, healthcare, analytics or a related field is preferred.
- MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
