This summer, 120 interns joined Intuitive, bringing fresh ideas, curiosity, and energy to teams across the company.
They were brought on board thanks to the University Hiring Program (UHP), which Intuitive views as a long-term investment in our future and a commitment to developing the next generation of talent.
The UHP is a strategic talent pipeline that connects students with meaningful, real-world experiences while supporting Intuitive's future growth. Interns gain valuable industry exposure and hands-on project work, while managers have an opportunity to mentor and evaluate emerging talent before graduation.

Building each intern class is no small task. Planning begins roughly a year before interns arrive, with leaders identifying future talent needs and teams partnering with recruiters to attract top candidates. Because many students receive internship offers early, recruiting efforts begin in the fall and continue into the spring to assemble each cohort.
Once they're here, interns jump right into meaningful work. They tackled projects that spanned nearly every corner of Intuitive—from applying AI and machine learning to solve complex business and clinical challenges, to improving manufacturing quality and operational efficiency, advancing product innovation, strengthening financial decision-making, and building tools that make work easier and more connected. Whether developing intelligent applications, optimizing supply chains, analyzing clinical outcomes, or designing next-generation testing and manufacturing solutions, interns made meaningful contributions that support Intuitive's mission and future growth.
"My internship at Intuitive far exceeded my expectations," said Emma Ziegebein, former 2025 intern and now current employee. "I was able to fully own a project from start to finish." Another former intern, Marisa Ricci, shared that she could clearly see how her work connected to the company's broader mission and described the experience as "the best way I could have spent my summer."
That impact goes both ways. Interns contribute fresh perspectives while gaining mentorship, industry knowledge, and practical experience that can help launch their careers. The program is designed not only to support students during their internship, but also to help them envision their future career and future Intuitive ambassadors.
