“Give to Gain”: Meet the new co-chairs of Intuitive’s WIN Employee Resource Group

Sarah Gedert Liz Klein
WIN Blog Hero

After more than a decade each at Intuitive, Sarah Gedert and Liz Klein have built careers defined by growth, impact, and collaboration. Sarah has spent nearly 16 years advancing clinical and commercial learning strategies that strengthen our global sales force, while Liz has navigated a “jungle gym” of roles across marketing and product management to help expand adoption of the da Vinci SP platform worldwide.

Now, they’re bringing that same energy and perspective to their new roles as co-chairs of WIN. Below, Sarah and Liz reflect on their career journeys, what inspires them, and why leading WIN is a meaningful next step in how they give back and help others grow.

Tell us about what you do at Intuitive and how you contribute to our success.

Sarah: As a leader within the Commercial Learning Development Team (CLDT), I’m responsible for driving and scaling learning strategies, operational excellence initiatives, and measuring the impact of our training on the business.

Our team designs and delivers learning solutions that increase clinical competence across our global sales force—always with a patients-first mindset.

Liz: I’m the da Vinci Single Port group product manager for da Vinci SP procedures. I work closely with cross-functional and global partners to identify new procedure areas and help expand adoption of the Single Port platform. At its core, my role is about connecting strategy, clinical insight, and collaboration to bring meaningful clinical value to surgeons—and ultimately patients—around the world.

What’s most rewarding to me is knowing that our work helps expand access to high quality care for everyone, regardless of location.

What’s your career journey at Intuitive been like?

Sarah: I’ve been at Intuitive for almost 16 years. During that time, I’ve grown my career— and my family. I’ve held roles including daVinci specialist, customer trainer, and clinical/product education, where I’ve spent most of my career. My most rewarding role has been leading incredible teams within Customer Learning & Development for the past 11 years.

Liz: I’ve been at Intuitive for 11 years, and one of the things I value most is the “jungle gym” of opportunities the company offers. My path hasn’t been linear, and that’s been a gift that has stretched and enabled me to be a more dynamic person and leader.

Moving across marketing and product management expanded my perspective, skillset, and leadership capacity—and shaped how I think about growth and development.

What’s your proudest achievement at Intuitive?

Sarah: I’m incredibly proud of the impact I’ve had on product development, customers, patients, learners, and team members. But my biggest achievement has been finding balance—building a career I love while being present for my family and friends.

Liz: I’m most proud of the personal and professional growth I’ve gained at Intuitive. The company has consistently challenged me to step outside my comfort zone, take on new responsibilities, and lead in bigger ways. That evolution as a strategic thinker, collaborator, and leader is what I’m most proud of.

What gives you energy or inspiration—inside and outside of work?

Sarah: At work, I’m energized by problem solving, especially when brainstorming with my incredible team and getting to the root cause of challenges to build scalable solutions across processes and business stakeholders.

Outside of work, my family gives me constant inspiration. My husband, Jacob, also works at Intuitive, and we have two kids, Henry, 7, and Amelia, 4—along with our French Bulldog, Oscar, 10. My family helps keep me grounded and focused on the positives in life. One thing I say to our kids almost every morning is, “Today is a great day to have a great day,” as a reminder that we choose our mindset (and joy).

Liz: Inside of work, collaboration energizes me, especially when innovation translates into real impact for patients globally. Outside of work, I draw inspiration from music, nature, my family, and strong, thoughtful leaders in my community, particularly women who are creating opportunities for others.

Why did you want to join WIN?

Sarah: I joined WIN for connection. With more than 2,400 members globally, WIN offers a unique opportunity to cultivate an environment where empowered women empower everyone. That sense of community and shared purpose has been incredibly energizing.

Taking on a leadership role [as regional vice chair in 2024] within WIN has had a profound impact on my own professional development. One highlight from my time as vice chair was partnering with incredible leaders throughout Intuitive to deliver inspiring breast cancer awareness initiatives the past two years. We raised funds (over $10,000 in 2025) and shared important knowledge.

Liz: I’ve always been passionate about advancing minimally invasive surgical options for women, and I see a strong connection between my role and WIN’s mission. Joining WIN felt like a natural extension of my work: supporting women’s leadership while advancing technologies that directly impact women’s care globally.

You are both new co-chairs for WIN. Why did you want to step into the role and how do you envision leading WIN?

Sarah:
I really enjoyed my time as vice chair, and I was ready to take on a new challenge. I see opportunities to expand WIN globally and better quantify the impact of our ERG through data. I am excited to lead through value.

I think “Give to Gain” is a perfect way to think about my opportunity to lead WIN as co-chair. Whether sharing knowledge, visibility, advocacy, or mentoring, I am excited to lead through giving over the next two years.

Liz: I’ve been a member of WIN for years and am new to the leadership side of the ERG. Stepping into the co-chair role has been both exciting and humbling. I am still very much learning, but I’ve been impressed by the passion and commitment across regions. It’s clear there’s a strong foundation, and I’m looking forward to building on that momentum.

I believe in WIN’s mission and in intentional leadership. As co-chairs, I see our role as creating clarity, connection, and consistency across regions. I’d love for WIN to continue evolving as a platform where women feel supported, challenged, and empowered— regardless of where they sit in the organization or in the world.

If we can help more women see what’s possible for themselves, I’ll consider that a success.

What does this year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” mean to you?

Sarah: The WIN leadership team aligned with the International Women’s Day 2026 theme, “Give to Gain” because it emphasizes generosity, collaboration, and support. Each of our activities, events, and newsletters focus on giving back and empowering those around us.

Liz: “Give to Gain” resonates deeply with me because so much of my growth came from leaders who invested in me. When we give—whether that’s time, mentorship, or advocacy—we strengthen our community and gain broader perspective, stronger relationships, and better outcomes.

What else do you want employees to know about the WIN ERG and the work it does?

Sarah: Intuitive is a mission-driven company, and the employees care deeply about the work. WIN has an amazing leadership team focused on connecting passionate employees interested in building community and making an impact, globally. As we work to make a difference, I encourage everyone to get involved, share ideas, and connect with our empowering WIN community.

Liz: WIN is more than events. It’s a global platform for connection, development, and visibility. While impact may look different across regions, the goal is the same everywhere: expanding opportunity and strengthening our culture.
