Job Description

Joining Intuitive Surgical means joining a team dedicated to using technology to benefit patients by improving surgical efficacy and decreasing surgical invasiveness. Patient safety is our highest priority.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The IT On-Site Support Specialist is, on a day-to-day basis, responsible for supporting hardware and software for all corporate onsite employees. The scope of hardware support includes laptops, desktops, printers, and other misc. IT related equipment. Software support includes but is not limited to, Windows Operating Systems, Mac environments, Microsoft Office products, local databases, and various ISI corporate business applications.

On a day-to-day basis, the IT On-Site Support Specialist will:

  • Respond to requests for IT assistance directly from corporate and field users or transferred from Service Desk support/ Remote Desktop Support for onsite activities.
  • Provide escalated Tech:Bar support
  • Assist with call support as dictated by volume or need
  • Communicate with customers to troubleshoot, discuss service expectations, relay relevant company policy, gather information, etc., to resolve transferred tickets from Service Desk support/ Remote Desktop Support for onsite activities.
  • Provide immediate support for high-priority escalations in person
  • Resolve customer issues in a timely fashion and escalate issues to other IT employees or groups as necessary
  • Use various software tools to troubleshoot customer issues
  • Properly document steps taken leading to the resolution or escalation of work orders
  • Full-time onsite
  • Create and dispatch work orders within the Service Management System
  • Learn, implement, and follow procedures as prescribed by department operating documentation and standards
  • Create and/or edit knowledge articles based on support resolutions
  • Install business-supported applications using IT software distribution technologies
  • Address network services and related issues (port configuration, etc.) as needed.
  • Resolve identified security issues as required.
  • Some travel to other corporate offices may be required

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:

Competency Requirements: The skills to adequately perform the responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience desired
  • Proficiency in both oral and written English is desired.
  • At least two years of experience supporting a Windows domain environment is desired
  • Strong customer service skills and experience required
  • Must be able to work independently and self-directed, as well as within a team
  • Must have excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Successful candidates will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Occasional weekend and non-business hour support may be required
  • A successful candidate should be flexible and able to complete projects outside their normal daily duties as needed
  • Knowledge of Windows and Mac environments preferred
  • Knowledge of network cabling support, IP configuration, wireless troubleshooting, and business applications preferred
  • Experience with server infrastructure and Active Directory is desired
