Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
Contribute technical manufacturing and design skills to develop precision endoscopic instruments for minimally invasive robotic surgery, focusing on process development, validation, and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, scale, and improve efficient "mid to high volume" manufacturing assembly processes, including:
- Introduce new process innovations and implement manufacturing fixtures and equipment
- Execute tests to verify process stability and capability
- Support design engineering in defining critical features for optimal manufacturability
- Develop and validate robust assembly processes from prototype to serial production
- Identify and implement improvements in yield, cycle time, product reliability, and cost reduction
- Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and introduce corrective actions for non-conformances
- Ensure compliance with current QMS, DOPs, SOPs, and safety regulations
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- BE/BS in Engineering (ME/MS preferred) or equivalent technical training with 2+ years of process development or manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in medical devices
- Strong process-oriented thinking and hands-on approach to manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication and documentation skills in German and English, with ability to build relationships and influence effectively
- Computer literacy with experience in Windows and Office; SAP knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of statistical analysis for process capability, validation, and design of experiments
- Willingness to travel internationally (up to 10% per year) and learn new software tools
- Experience in ISO9001/13485 or medical device manufacturing environment preferred
