Job Description
Primary Function of Position
As Senior Manager of Tax Planning, you will be responsible for participating in the development and execution of Intuitive’s tax planning function with respect to its worldwide business expansion and transaction initiatives. You will report to the Director, Tax Planning. You will leverage, and continue to grow, your tax technical expertise while working with a broad range of teams to solve problems and help the company’s mission.
Essential Job Duties
- Liaise with business partners (manufacturing, corporate development, etc.), finance partners (treasury, accounting, local teams with an emphasis on Asia), and other key partners (legal) of the Intuitive tax department to identity tax issues and provide necessary assistance.
- Act as the main point of contact for and have ownership of tax projects.
- Interact with other groups within the Intuitive tax department to provide assistance and identify issues.
- Develop and execute international planning strategies and initiatives, including both US and non-US tax, and local country tax planning.
- Research and examine developments in domestic and international tax law.
- Coordinate international planning strategies with internal business partners as well as outside counsel, tax, and accounting advisors.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 7 years of tax experience in a large public accounting firm, law firm and/or multi-national corporate tax department
- International tax experience with complete execution of complex projects
- Experience with planning related to recent US tax reform
- Proven tax research and computer skills
- Curiosity and interest in learning about Intuitive’s business
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to partner with outside advisors and internal business teams to execute projects
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and complete projects on a timely basis
- Detail oriented and highly methodical. Capable of drilling down into the details and performing complex quantitative and qualitative analyses.
- Team player and willingness to partner
- This role requires working onsite in our Sunnyvale, CA office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week
Required Education and Training
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree; JD or Master degree in Taxation (LLM, MST, etc.) a plus
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in financial reporting related to international tax matters a plus
- Experience with transfer pricing a plus
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, treasury issues a plus
- Medical device/medical technology industry and manufacturing experience a plus

Base Salary Range Region 1: $183,000 USD - $274,400 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $155,500 USD - $233,300 USD
Shift: Day
Travel: 10% of the time
Workplace Type: Set Schedule - This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader.
