Primary Function of Position

 

The IT Analyst will serve as the primary point of contact for all analytics requests from the Mexicali departments. Optimizing our manufacturing operations help surgeons and their associated institutions succeed in providing better patient outcomes.

 

The successful candidate will work closely with department leaders to support and implement high-quality, data-driven decisions. They will leverage advanced data modeling, predictive modeling and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from company data and translate these insights into initiatives that will support business outcomes. The right person for the job will apply their exhaustive knowledge of data analysis to solving real-world problems faced by our company and finding opportunities for improvement across multiple projects, teams and business units.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Establish a deep understanding of and partnership with assigned business functions;

  • Create analytical solutions by translating business needs into Tableau specs, metrics, reports with effective visualization and drill down tools

  • Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, engineering as well as modeling, visualization and communication of deliverables;
  • Use business data & statistical methods to provide insight into business performance and suggest areas and methods of improving operations;
  • Manage applications resolution to maintain effective dashboards (SAP, Agile, EDW, Tableau etc.).
  • Engage IT support for future business enhancements within our applications (identify areas of improvement, functional spec, script testing, project management).

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in Data Analytic, preferably with a medical device company.

  • Experience with ERP systems, Business Intelligence applications and MS Office products, preferably SAP ERP/BI, Hyperion, Agile and Tableau. Strong skill set in Excel is a must.

  • Understanding global forecasts in a medium/high volume, high mix manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple objectives and priorities concurrently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and partner cross-functionally at all levels of the organization.

  • Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources;

  • Strong SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries;

  • Experience working with databases and creating dashboards using all relevant data to inform decisions;

  • Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities;

  • Intellectual curiosity with a desire for continuous improvement;
