  • Supervise and responsible for Classification Center of Excellence (COE) day-to-day operational support

  • Provide day-to-day operational classification support for upcoming shipments

  • Ensure global classifications requests are resolved in a timely matter and according to the Classification Service Level Agreement (SLA)

  • Effectively supervise COE Classification Team member(s)

  • Research of Customs and Partner Government Agency (PGA) regulations

  • Ensure timely and accurate Trade data (HTS and ECCN) management in ERP system

  • Assist with development of Global classification alignment audits

  • Validate tariff codes and qualification to support Free Trade Agreement (FTA)

  • Interact with Global Trade Compliance Manager to identify improvement opportunities

  • Provide training to team members to improve working skills, working process, etc.

  • Assist with developing and maintaining Global Classification Product Matrix

  • Assist with creating and managing classification logic to ensure classification consistency and accuracy

  • Ensure accuracy of global duty rates to assist planning and internal businesses assessments

  • Responsible for COE classification queue while supporting multiple ongoing assignments

  • Establish clear and concise communications both internally and externally


  • 8+ years of international trade experience, focusing primarily on customs and trade

  • 8+ years of experience in HTS and ECCN classification and program development

  • Detail oriented and highly organized with ability to multi-task, including a demonstrated ability to drive decision-making in a fast-paced environment with on-demand requests

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex classification issues

  • Ability to drive complex, cross-functional projects including setting scope, reaching consensus, executing on tasks, and presenting results.

  • Ability to write, speak, and present effectively and persuasively at all levels (Both English and Spanish).

  • Supervisory skillsets, Analytical and Research skillsets, Project Management Skills

  • Attention to Details, Tactful, Strong Work Ethic, Adaptable, Flexible

  • Intermediate to Advance Excel skillset, preferred

  • Working knowledge of SAP and experience with implementing (or at a minimum utilizing) databases and enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) global trade automation solutions.

  • Licenciatura degree or equivalent; or evidence of exceptional ability and/or experience

  • Customhouse Broker License or equivalent, preferred

  • Some business travel (~10%) will be required
