The IT Support Engineer is on a day-to-day basis, responsible for supporting all Information Systems hardware and software for all Corporate and Field employees. The IT Engineer is the final escalation point for all problems and issues in their area of responsibility. The scope of hardware support includes, all laptops, desktops, printers, cell phones, telecom, desktops, and other equipment such Network Switches, Servers, and other network hardware. The scope of software support includes MS Windows Operating Systems (desktop and server version), email, and various ISI corporate business applications that are used by ISI Employees (e.g. MS Office, Clarify, and Agile). Must support “building needs” such as network connectivity, networked printers, copiers, projectors, and any other technical needs. The IT Engineer will be an advocate for their area and those that work within their area. They are also responsible for training and developing Service Desk Technician on all subjects within their areas of responsibility.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Respond to requests for IT assistance directly from corporate and field users.
Document and maintain processes, best practices, knowledge base and training materials
Manage cell phone, corporate telecom, and/or long-distance calling card programs
Maintain adequate equipment inventory
Maintain accurate user equipment inventory
Support all building needs including printers, copiers, meetings, etc.
Support network equipment, servers and network gear.
Manage/participate in value added projects as needed
Ensure company and departmental goals as defined by management are met completely and on time
At least 5 years’ experience supporting Windows operating system computing environment.
Experience working with Information Systems for a US based corporation.
Strong knowledge of Windows XP\W7\W10 (both desktop and server). Experience with networking/remote access including virtual private networks, telecom, and business applications necessary.
Must be able to work independently and self-directed, as well as, within a team.
Must have strong organizational skills, and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Should be flexible and able to complete projects outside normal daily duties as needed.
Weekend and non-business hour support rotation required.
