Description

Joining Intuitive Surgical means joining a team dedicated to using technology to benefit patients by improving surgical efficacy and
decreasing surgical invasiveness, with patient safety as our highest priority.

Primary Function of Position:

This key senior management position provides oversight for Sunnyvale operations with overall responsibility for production, quality, maintenance and other production-related activities in a multi product platform environvment for service repair, failure analyses and NPI activites. Provides strategic and tactical direction for administration, development, and delivery of all Service Operations programs and initiatives applicable. Effectively achieve results through others and lead a wide range of individuals across multiple disciplines.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation and accelerated growth of a world class service repair, failure analyses, new product introduction activities and product transfer projects.
• Ensure the organizational structure, technical capability, resources and processes exist to achieve the current and future objectives of the operation.
• Integral participant with Services leadership team to ensure budget is managed and in line with the strategic plan. Interactions may involve special skills, such as negotiating with vendors or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
• Develop a well-motivated and cohesive management team to accomplish business objectives by means of leadership and team building initiatives.
• Lead the organization to improve quality, efficiency, reduce scrap, drive margins and control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses. Drive best practices and change throughout the region to ensure consistent, high quality and repeatable performance.
• Participate with other senior managers to implement Services strategic plans and objectives. Provide input into decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures effective achievement of objectives.
• Instill a lean methodology and mentality of continuous improvemtn within management and staff.
• Attract, retain, and motivate a high performance organization capable of driving excellence.
• Cultivate a healthy work environment aligned with company culture and values
• Develop leadership personnel within the organization in order to enable future departmental and company growth



Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements: 

• Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.
• 10+years experience leading high-tech manufacturing and repairs with proven track record of increased responsibilities throughout the career profile.
• Strong understanding of medical device compliance requirements.
• Strong business acumen in manufacturing, repairs, logistics, quality, planning and regulatory desired.
• Must possess strong leadership skills to provide mentoring and training.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• A track record of milestone achievement, operational excellence and strong cross-functional skills. Recognized as a “do-er” who is willing to work broadly to resolve issues in an inclusive way.
• Experienced with an industry-standard enterprise systems such as SAP.
• Prior success in building an organization, with a track record of recruiting, motivating, and developing top talent.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to change without losing focus of priorities
• Need excellent knowledge of English language
• Strong initiative in decision making and assumptions of responsibilities
