Primary Function of Position:

Supporting the Commercial Team in developing quality sales opportunities with the public sector through customer and prospect engagement in the early phases of the tender lifecycle, advocating within customer base with Intuitive’s key value proposition and solutions, strong clinical and technical knowledge, data gathering and analytics, representation and participation in respective industry fora. Working closely with the Contracts & Tender Team on market trends and competition intelligence, forecast and planning, tool implementation and bid submission activities.



Commercial manager with wide experience in business development regarding the public sector in the medical device business, key account management experience in order to expertise the tender lifecycle and tender preparations as well as implementation (upselling after tender) with strong clinical knowledge and interest.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Detect and develop business opportunities with public customers

  • Create correct understanding of our products, clinical and technical capabilities, sales conditions and so being a link between Public Customers and internal stakeholders

  • Understand and assess competition, sales activities and market trends with focus on Germany / Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Slovakia in order to optimize and make suggestions on sales activities to Public Customers

  • Collect data, maintain and analyze sales activities to the Public Sector and tendering

  • Liaise with key stakeholders regarding strategic tender management questions from a technical, clinical and commercial point of view

  • Advise hospitals and purchasers on key differentiators, providing support and answering questions as required

  • Organize product-related events targeting purchasers in alignment with Sales

  • Support Sales in long-term pipeline planning and lead creation

  • Assist in bid preparations from a technical, product and financial/commercial point of view

  • Participate in industry organizations and networks to ensure preparations and adaptations to industry procurement trends



  • 5-7 years’ experience in medical device industry

  • At least 3 years’ experience in key account management, sales to public sector/tendering

  • Business Administration, finance, or clinical background

  • Market access or marketing experience is a plus

  • Fluency in German and English is a must

  • Effective communication skills across a broad organization

  • The position requires 50% travel activities

  • Office location: Freiburg.
