Intuitive Surgical is a global leader in Robotic Surgery. They have setup a fully owned subsidiary in India around 2 years back they saw India as a high potential market. They are in an expansion mode, have robust growth plans for India.

This position will ensure implementation of strategic and operational marketing programs for the Region while developing surgeon champions to support and drive adoption and growth of Da Vinci surgical procedures. The focus will be on Urologists, Gynecologists and Surgical Oncologists. The Marketing Director will be lead a team of Regional marketing managers once on board, working closely with the APAC and Global marketing groups.

Key aspects of the role are –
• Experience / good mix of product and clinical marketing
• Hands on experience in marketing strategy viz product technology and data analysis, product and clinical strategy, marketing related decision making / functional expertise in marketing.
• Hands on marketing guy. Someone who can take on higher responsibilities.
• Experience of working in a high growth environment
• Working in a pedigreed MNC / matrix environment. Stakeholder management and working with regional / global marketing teams.

This is a critical position for the organization. The incumbent must have an understanding of the dynamics of this function and space. Must have experience of working in an international matrix / multicultural environment. • Contribute to regional marketing strategy collaborating with GM, sales leadership and APAC & Global marketing team
• Hire, train and develop competencies for the Regional marketing team. Conduct Quarterly P&R to develop competencies of the team members
• Conduct Weekly Meeting with team members to manage priorities

The primary function of this position is to be able to lead a Regional team, executing on the following global marketing standards:

Understand your market – Open/MIS rate, National outcomes, surgeon/patient/hospital segments, reimbursement levels, incumbent surgical techniques and KOLs etc:
• Develop and execute regional marketing tactics with a primary focus on growth areas like general surgery, but also managing urology, gynecology, thoracic, and other clinical areas with the country team. This will include detailed activities to be implemented in a defined timeline and budget in strong collaboration with the European marketing team and regional sales leadership
• Strong partnering with clinical and capital sales teams in a growing competitive environment, provide local market expertise for analysis, targeting and regional action planning purposes
• Work closely as needed with product development teams to liaise with local surgeons to define product requirements to further enable key procedures

Maintain alignment on target procedures/products – Help define what is being driven and why within commercial org and keep all teams focused on regional commercial strategy:
• Work closely with Market Access and Clinical Affairs to develop and implement publication strategies that will support procedure adoption goals
• Conduct Weekly Meeting with cross-functional team members to manage priorities
• Collaborate with Training department to identify and support the development of sales in Region. Deliver content for training and management meetings

Build Value Props Stories, Tools, Events and Engage 3Ps- (Physician, Patient, Provider):
• Deliver corporate clinical & capital marketing and sales tools to achieve short and long-term goals for procedures /sales quotas, products and system sales (executive and clinical vision presentations, webinars, KOL videos and content, market development events, executive sessions, white papers, key publication summaries etc…)

Develop Speaker/Teacher/Case Obs/Executive KOLs – With strong technique, outcomes and use of advanced technology:
• Partner with key regional surgeon champions (KOLs) to develop and implement leading robotic clinical education programs and symposia to drive competency and utilization of da Vinci Surgery
• Develop and approve proctors based on surgical, clinical and teaching expertise to implement safe and effective reproducible surgical techniques with improve clinical outcomes

Quantify the impact (QTI) – clinical, economic, strategic evidence- of key dV surgeons/hospitals as references:
• Work closely with European and Local Market Access Manager team to assist in development and execution of cost effectiveness/ value strategies in key markets
• Collect, analyze and share competitive data for strategic positioning and initiatives
• Validate Clinical and Economical data with Epicenters, reference case observation center, key surgeon champions (KOLs) and proctors

Align with relevant Surgical and Executive societies- on dV surgery to ensure support and partnership:
• Develop and implement Intuitive presence at key national conferences, including robotics symposia, post graduate (PG) courses, live surgical broadcasts, tradeshow booth promotion and presence, manage and balance available resources to above programs


• Requisite years of Clinical/Product marketing experience, with more than 5 years of team management experience desired
• Possess country specific market knowledge; ability to provide expert advice to complex issue resolution
• MNC Experience is must
• Healthcare experience is a plus. However also open to engaging with strong senior marketing candidates from industries where they are exposed to high tech product lines, high value and deep customer engagement and new market creation.
• Possess country specific market knowledge; ability to provide expert advice to complex issue resolution
• Ability to build a high performance team
• Proven ability to effectively position and procedure/product messages and develop strong sales support to drive desired adoption
• Surgical and/or Operating Theatre (Room) sales experience is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in life science or business discipline is a plus. MBA is a must
• Demonstrated success in building clinical education and marketing programs to drive product/procedure growth
• Superior verbal/written communication in English, teamwork, and interpersonal work across multiple constituents.
• Self-starter with ability to take leadership in unstructured environment.
• A keen ability to manage projects, keeping to budget, organizing, prioritizing and coping with multiple tasks
• Strong knowledge of the MS Office product suite
• Ability to travel 60%. International travel required
