Primary Function of Position:

The Industrial Engineer 1 will be responsible for supporting Lean and continuous improvements initiatives in manufacturing as well as day to day manufacturing activities. The IE 1 will receive direction and development from the wider Industrial Engineering team and be responsible for localized improvements and supporting team projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Identify and execute continuous improvement ideas to support plant objectives of safety, cost, quality, and service.
• Learn and use a variety of process optimization tools such as 5S, process mapping, line balancing, and waste analysis to analyze and optimize ISI manufacturing equipment, processes, and layout.
• Use data and available dashboards to guide analysis and work activities.
• Using time and motion studies, evaluate and maintain standards of production throughout manufacturing operations.
• Participate in team activities involving process improvements, value analysis, design reviews, product transfer and startup, and new product introduction.
• Support the Industrial Engineering team with duties that utilize up-to-date tools and techniques in the areas of time standards, line balancing, simulation modeling, cost estimation, manpower planning, productivity and continuous improvement.

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

Base Requirements

• Engineering degree, preferably Industrial Engineering or similar.
• Strong work ethic and a demonstrated desire to learn complemented with strong people skills.
• Self-starter able to work in a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
• General software skills required (i.e. Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint).
• Quantitative approach to problem solving.
• Proficient with data analysis tools (i.e. Excel, R).

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with process analysis/time study software such as TimerPro.
• Experience with Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, simulation software (Simul8, ProModel, Arena, etc.).
• Exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau.
