Position’s Objective & Summary:
The Contract Negotiator will perform a full spectrum of contracts administration tasks including drafting, negotiation and administration of commercial contracts and preparation of tender submissions in a high-pressure environment under tight deadlines. Negotiate contractual terms and conditions with customers and/or partners to ensure company and legal compliance in the sales of Intuitive’s products and services.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating sales, leasing and other commercial contracts that establish business relationships with customers and/or partners.
  • Draft training, proctoring, consulting, grant and other miscellaneous agreements with respect to Intuitive’s commercial activities.
  • Prepare tender documentation and submission together with Intuitive’s bid team and Sales, negotiate terms and conditions to the extent allowed, and manage tender processes as required.
  • Analyze contracts to ensure compliance with company policy, government regulations, revenue recognition and other requirements.
  • Interact directly with administrators, purchasing personnel and attorneys representing Intuitive Surgical’s customers.
  • Work closely with Intuitive Surgical’s Legal, Sales, Customer Service, Accounting, and Logistics teams on the system sales process and with Marketing, Clinical Affair sand Market Access on further contractual activities.
  • Ensure all applicable data is loaded and maintained in Intuitive’s contract administration databases.
  • Coordinating internal processes regarding commercial activities and ensuring the compliance of the commercial activities with applicable laws and internal policies.
  • The Contract Negotiator will primarily support capital and clinical commercial activities in France, the Benelux countries and the UK, partially in the Nordics.
  • The position will require an initial training time in Switzerland and the US. Estimated travelling time afterwards: 20%-30%

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Law degree or equivalent experience. Education in public procurement law and/or tender management is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years prior experience with commercial contracts. Experience in public procurement law and/or tender management is of advantage.
  • Strong interest towards business and commercial, financial activities, readiness to work hand-in-hand with Sales in the frontline.
  • Detail oriented, organized and able to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including legal drafting skills).
  • Proactive and ability to work independently.
  • Working knowledge of standard legal terms and conditions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Perfect fluency in English and French (written and spoken) is mandatory. Other European languages are of advantage.
