Eligibility:

Must be concurrently enrolled and returning to an academic program in the fall in an accredited degree-seeking program.

Primary Function of Position:

The successful candidate will have to opportunity to contribute to: robotic simulation, automation, web applications, backend server infrastructure, python middle-ware and data analytics. Your work will help engineers, support staff and ultimately the surgical patients.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and integration of our surgical robot simulation platform. Help make having a surgical robot on your desktop a reality.
• Work with other team members to improve the quality and capabilities of our Python interface and our web-based application suite that is used to diagnose, troubleshoot and interact with the surgical system.
• Contribute to an environment that enables engineers, field service personnel, manufacturing and product support to extract, analyze and visualize information from the robot that in turns enables them to excel at their jobs and thus improve patient value of our products.
Qualifications

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

We have a wide spectrum of work to do and are looking for the right person over a precise set of skills. The candidate will ideally have some combination of following skills/abilities:

• Enrolled in a Math, Software, Electrical, or Computer Engineering related program.
• Interest in simulation and automation of complex systems.
• Experience with containerization and virtualization technologies (VMWare, Docker, etc)
• Proficient with some or all of the following: Python, C++, Javascript, HTML5, SQL, NoSQL
• Enthusiasm and passion for technology. A real excitement to learn and get to the bottom of tough technical problems

Learning Outcomes:

• Hands on experience developing software for complex embedded surgical systems.
• Experience working on a distributed simulation platform for a surgical robot
• Broad exposure to a variety of tools in the industry today used for improving automation reliability and productivity of complex hybrid hardware and software systems

Commitment: Must be available to work full-time hours, M-F for 10-12 weeks beginning Summer of 2019.
