Description

Position’s Objective & Summary:
 
The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support and financial oversight to the functional leaders of the EU HQ office, as they make important strategic and tactical decisions.  Such responsibilities will include budgeting, forecasting and actuals analysis for operational expenses. 
The Financial Analyst will be involved in detailed business modeling, for both short term (monthly forecast) and long term (strategic planning), translating clinical and business strategies into impacts to the support functions.
 
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide financial and analytical support to the EU HQ Admin teams (ex: Finance, IT, HR, RA/QA, etc…)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with functional leaders and local management team.
  • Manage the preparation and coordination of detailed departmental budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Ensure spending remains within budget: review and approve purchase requests; identify risks & opportunities; agree on trade-offs to respect budget commitments;
  • Actively participate in the Month End close activities in support of the local accounting team.
  • Prepare monthly reporting package to Executive management for the European activities, in coordination with Corporate Accounting team and regional Finance & Sales Operations teams.
  • Develop and implement best in class budgeting and forecasting practices for the European organization, in coordination with regional Finance & Sales Operations teams.
  • Collaborate with IT and Corporate FP&A to maintain, develop and enhance our reporting tools and solutions in order to better help assess business performance and support investment decisions.
  • Help simplify and streamline existing FP&A processes, while maximizing effectiveness.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial report or analysis;
Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience;
  • Written and verbal fluency in French and English
  • Quick learner and ability to drive successful results with limited supervision;
  • Desire to work in a fast paced and complex team environment;
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel as well as experience in building financial models involving complex formulas and large data sets;
  • Experience with financial & reporting systems. Knowledge of SAP, Hyperion and Tableau are a plus;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Process-oriented mindset
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles;
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field;
     
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Experience in a mid-sized international fast growing company and/or within the medical or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Master’s degree in finance, business or economics.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP.
