Intuitive Surgical is among the fastest-growing healthcare companies focused on medical technology.  Reporting into the Market Access and Custom Analytics organization, the Market Access Associate works closely with customers, sales and support service leaders to help drive market adoption and optimize da Vinci minimally-invasive robotic assisted surgery.  The MACA organization depends on the Healthcare Informatics Analyst to shepherd the customer’s data analyst teams through the process of merging revenue cycle services, scheduling and enterprise data sets for our MACA Regional Directors.  The Market Access Associate works in tandem with MACA, Customer and Sales teams to provide strategic insights, resulting in better coordinated minimal-invasive surgical care for patients.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the systems data MACA consultant for strategically imperative customers
  • Participate with cross functional-teams to develop solutions to optimize care standards
  • Provide detailed and actionable analysis to drive efficient performance
  • Translate data into meaningful strategic recommendations and actions
  • Guide outcomes and cost optimization decisions by providing insights to the MACA and customer teams
  • Assist the MACA team in developing, articulating, and defending strategy recommendations
  • Work as a customer facing project manager during the data abstracting and ingestion process
  • Work in a cross-functional analytics team comprised of several Intuitive departments

  • 3+ years of analytical experience preferred and/or advanced degree 
  • Healthcare Informatics and Data Systems experience such as Epic, Cerner, McKesson, Meditech, Allscripts preferred
  • Solution Oriented Mindset.  Think beyond exploratory analysis.  Address “What do we do about it?”
  • Advanced Excel skills (MS Access preferred)
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau preferred), dashboard and report creation
  • Ability to leverage PowerPoint to artfully craft a cohesive and impactful narrative
  • Desire to be part of a small, close-knit team of elite business analysts committed to the collective success of the team, the larger commercial organization, and the patients we serve
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision
  • High quantitative reasoning/application skills and ability to critically think through complexity as it arises
  • Aptitude to quickly understand causal relationships/cause and effect mapping
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to prioritize requests and deliver upon stakeholder expectations
  • Excellent written and oral communication with a dedicated customer orientation
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field
