Job Description
Primary Function of the Position (Brief statement (3-5 sentences) describing the reporting structure, main responsibility(s) and key function(s) which will contribute to the overall success of the individual in this job)
Manage the Preventive Maintenance and Calibration department for Intuitive’s manufacturing operation in the Mexicali sites. Primary functional responsibilities include the areas of Preventive Maintenance and Calibration (PMC) to ensure adherence to company standards. The PMC Manager will directly support all audit related activities both internal and external for the Mexicali sites. Additionally, the PMC manager will interface directly with Sunnyvale PMC teams and with program managers for line transfer activities and ongoing process improvement. This role will work directly with site leadership team to align on goals and objectives. The PMC Manager will lead continuous improvement activities within the PMC group.
Essential Job Duties (Specific responsibilities and tasks an individual would be expected to perform in the role. Additional job duties may be determined by functional people manager)
- Manage the PMC team of the site.
- Assure all operations are performed in accordance to procedures
- Perform periodic audits to verify correct and consistent operations
- Determine, maintain Quality Operations CIP/department goals
- Track recurring issues and escalate as needed to achieve root cause corrective action
- Interface daily with internal customers to provide status of open issues and drive those items to closure.
- Drive cross-functional issue resolution
- Facilitate interdepartmental resource allocation
- Develop, trend, and improve appropriate metrics
- Proactively recognize environmental changes and provide coordinated direction for mitigation
- Drive improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery
- Allocate resources appropriately to achieve departmental objectives
- Perform periodic capacity analysis in order to support production growth
- Define and justify head count needs and provide information for quarterly SIOP reviews
- Develop leadership personnel within the department in order to support growth
- Write and conduct formal annual performance reviews for direct reports
- Develop and manage departmental budget

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of management experience on related field.
- Outstanding management and communication skills.
- Experience with preventive maintenance activities on electrical, mechanical and pneumatic equipment.
- Experience with preventive maintenance activities on automated manufacturing equipment.
- Excellent creative problem-solving skills
- English: 80% minimum (Written and spoken)
- Working knowledge with TPM.
- Working knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma
- Project Management experience
- Experience with calibration processes and standards.
Required Education and Training (As applicable - Specific education and training that an individual must possess in order to successfully perform in job)
- Engineering BS degree
- Must be computer literate with experience using, Windows, Excel, Word, Power Point
