Job Description
Primary function of the position:
Manage, develop and motivate a team of employees with different skill levels to achieve given team performance goals within a sophisticated manufacturing work environment with complex or a variety of production processes. The goals will include quality, efficiency, on-time delivery, FPY (First Pass Yield) and document accuracy (GDP). Goals are set in each of these areas for each quarter and overall team performance is measured against them.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Disciplinary and functional management of the team
- Hiring, training, and development of the team, performance management with goal setting and feedback
- Interface between production management and functional and disciplinary subordinates in production
- Is trained on all OPs in their production group
- Staff scheduling according to SIOP
- Is able to process operations, NCRs, and QNs in Neptune and SAP, able to write Process Logs (PLs), and provides guidance to employees
- Assists in the processing of DNs and NCRs, also in collaboration with interface areas, such as DHR/FQI/Planner/PASS
- Creates Equipment Events (EEs)
- Is able to read and understand dimensions from technical drawings
- Supports all necessary measures to increase efficiency and reduce quality issues
- Understands the full Quality Process Flow to troubleshoot production issues
- Reviews / releases ECOs for their processes and understands the impact on their area
- Independently communicates with Engineering and provides feedback to managers
- Is able to create and give target group specific presentations in German and English
- Holds shop floor meetings within the group and communicates key performance indicators (KPIs), defects and their impact, as well as company information relevant to employees
- Regular participation in the Q-Table
- Responsible for daily KPIs/unit counts in their group and responds immediately according to established guidelines if issues arise
- Actively seeks opportunities for improvement as part of the Continuous Improvement (CI) process and develops solutions for optimization in collaboration with IE/ME and keeps track of these
- Monitoring and compliance with all company, environmental, safety, and production regulations. Reacts immediately in case of deviations
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Technician/master's degree as mechanic/mechatronics technician/watchmaker or equivalent, or recognized technical training in accordance with the Vocational Training Act (BBiG) as precision mechanic/mechatronic/technician/ watchmaker or comparable
- At least 3 years of task-related work experience
- Initial experience in managing technical personnel or leading project teams an advantage
- Good communication, documentation, and presentation skills in German and English
- Good knowledge of MS-Office
- Excellent knowledge of Lean Production. Recognizes problems in the production process, provides suggestions for optimization in cooperation with IE, and plans the implementation
- Good knowledge of SAP in a production environment
- Willingness to work in a clean room and wear gloves and ESD clothing
