Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
The Manager works closely with marketing and sales directors and VP to perform detailed analyses for the commercial organization and proactively provides strategic insights and guidance to managers above including GM. There is significant interaction with commercial directors, VP and GM as well as cross-functional work across customer finance, training, marketing, and other country FSO managers. This position supports VP & President Japan and other functional leaders for financial planning, forecasting, analyzing the business with deep understanding of market’s dynamics and is capable of providing valuable insights for their decision makings.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Managing 4 direct reports, 2 in Sales operation and 2 in FP&A in Japan. Throughout day-to-day work and designated people development process, accelerating team members’ development and building future talent pipeline working closely with FSO director
- Leading the team to support our business their decision making along with “world class finance and sales operation analytics”
- Co-leading with our business to build their resource budget, including investment and FTE, with defined ROI that maximize the returns as well as forecast update.
- Provide detailed and actionable analysis to the marketing and sales organizations to drive performance with financial analysis
- Proactively analyze complex business problems, data, or trends and provide strategic, data driven insights that support Japan commercial planning, strategy, short and long -range financial models and accelerated adoption and scale.
- Supporting enabling function and CMO planning, strategy, short and long -range financial models coworking with global finance team
- Develop tools and dashboards that highlight opportunity and enable our capital sales team to more effectively sell da Vinci technology
- Provide early insights regarding market trends and the resultant strategic/business model impact Utilize SQL and Tableau to query CRM, Customer Service, and Finance databases
- Develop models and dashboards to track new product launches, the impact of sales activities and financial reporting for budget versus actual
- Participate with cross functional-teams to investigate and resolve operational issues
- Connect with stakeholders internal and external to learn from best practices, impacting countries’ performance
- Closely work with Asia regional office and US HQ to work for the process of budgeting, forecasting, long term planning
- Use analytical skills to verify or dispel anecdotal insights
Qualifications
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in finance or Sales/Marketing analytical department
- Critical thinking Intellectual curiosity
- Demonstrated Intuitive leadership / individual expectations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with humility, to include the ability to interact with commercial leadership
- Influence people by understanding dynamics interpersonal dynamics, being sensitive to the motivations of others
- Ability to support and prioritize multiple projects concurrently
- Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced organization and eager to learn from others
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to consistently discern strategic insights from data analysis
- Advanced Excel & Working knowledge of SQL (Tableau experience and skills preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Business English capability is required
- Sales experience is plus
