Job Description
Primary Function of the Position
The APAC Sterile Reprocessing Manager should be an exemplar of Intuitive’s mission and values. We expect this person, and all our teammates, to support the expansion of Intuitive solutions such as the da Vinci robotic surgery system and Ion Robotic Bronchoscopy system. To this end, the APAC Sterile Reprocessing Manager assures the instructions for cleaning, sterilizing, and handling of Intuitive instruments and accessories are implemented across the APAC region by working with each country’s service leadership, sterile reprocessing specialists, and broader teams. This person works closely with corporate device reprocessing, design and validation teams on evolving market needs to ensure products and instructions are in alignment and sterile reprocessing support processes are maintained across the region. This person actively reports on progress of goals related to the region’s sterile reprocessing support efforts to his/her direct manager and regional leaders. The APAC Sterile Reprocessing Manager will be a key member of the regional Customer Experience and Services team.
Essential Job Duties
- Act as the expert for all current reprocessing standards and best practices, as they relate to Intuitive Surgical products within the region. Work with management to influence product design and development, and validation of reprocessing of ISI products
- Provide support for academic activities and KOLs to support efficacy, compatibility and other best practices or insights into the sterile reprocessing of Intuitive product
- Support onboarding and management of vendors of sterilization/cleaning supplies and equipment as needed
- Provide input to the resolution of sterility related non-conformances as a subject matter expert, including review and explanation of the failure analysis and both indirect and direct support to customers to resolve issues
- Advise and support regarding changes and improvements to customer facing and internal documentation or instructions
- Maintain thorough knowledge of regulations, standards, and guidance in reprocessing of reusable medical devices and regional variations
- Remain current on all professional certifications and vendor credentials
- Support SRS designated members / teams in each country as the leading authority on sterile reprocessing for Intuitive products.
- Administer training for new SRS and, when needed, for relevant service members on all the knowledge / tools needed to successfully perform their job.
- Monitor trends of returned material (RMA) as related to Intuitive Instruments and Accessories
- Assure that all issues are tracked and resolved in a timely manner by keeping in touch with country leads on a regular basis.
- Motivate and collaborate with country leads to promote high standards across teams
- Support escalation events and provide guidance or direct support when needed.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Conduct training sessions at Intuitive locations, training centers, and hospitals.
- Assist in the development of teaching and training materials.
- Provide management with regular regional review and assessment.
- Complete all administrative tasks in the required time frame.
- Travel up to 70% including overseas travel to primary markets of Japan, Korea, India, Taiwan and China as well as occasional travel to the United States
- Ad hoc tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 6 years’ experience related to sterilization and reprocessing, ideally in a medical environment, required.
- Experience and knowledge of OR protocol and central processing techniques and equipment, PQ validations, etc. required.
- Experience or working knowledge of the use and/or reprocessing of complex medical devices, and excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, required.
- Ability to lead through influence, negotiates effectively, and manage customer expectations, required.
- Excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills, required.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational ability, required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with other departments, required.

Required Education and Training
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Biomedical training, Life Science or technical equivalent, required.
