Job Description
Primary Function
Our small group is seeking engineers passionate about improving the way we service robots. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and maintain software and tools to enable field engineers to efficiently perform and document actions like error analysis, part replacement, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
You will collaborate with software engineers, service, and product support teams, ensuring robust and effective tools for our users. Strong collaboration, technical writing, and organizational skills are essential, along with agility in varied test and development environments.
This position offers the opportunity to work with next-generation products, engage with diverse teams, and foster a culture of collaboration. Our team has frequent opportunities to work directly with end users, see how our tool impacts their daily lives, and have the flexibility to drive novel improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop test platform software to support the distribution, execution, and record-keeping of software used to service our robots in the field.
- Lead and assist in the creation, testing, and documentation of effective requirements and efficient test strategies for the service software suite, adapting the platform to operate in the rapidly advancing product and international service spaces.
- Ensure that written requirements and test plans are comprehensive and accurate.
- Create and refine interfaces between service software components, such as test algorithms and limits, and database and storage infrastructure.
Qualifications
Skill/Job Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, or 8+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
- Expert level knowledge of Python
- Experience with Qt
- Extensive experience with all aspects of the software development life cycle: Planning, Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment, Maintenance.
- Proficiency with issue management tools and lifecycle or requirements management tools.
- Strong experience with Windows and familiarity with cross-platform development.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience building service tools
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with JavaScript
- Experience with QML
- Experience with C++
- Experience with MATLAB
- Experience with Linux and test automation tools (e.g., Jenkins).
- Experience with AWS S3, MongoDB, and/or SQL.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.
Base Salary Range Region 1: $176,300 USD - $253,700 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $149,900 USD - $215,700 USD
Shift: Day
Travel: 10% of the time
Workplace Type: Purposeful Onsite - This job requires being onsite for leader-defined events and activities which could be monthly/annually. Onsite frequency may increase based on business need.
