Job Description

Primary Function of the Position

This position is seeking a creative, analytical and flexible individual to help lead distribution planning activities supporting Intuitive’s European finished goods and spare part distribution network.  Responsible to ensure sufficient product and spare part inventory is available at the different levels of the distribution network to ensure all orders ship on time, work with the wider Planning and Supply Chain team to minimize the impact of constrained inventory on orders, including proactive communication on constrained inventory to European stake holders, meeting quality and shipping compliance standards to meet our customer demands. This also includes managing reverse logistics and returns of systems, consumables and FRU’s.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Expertly use planning tools and systems in order to ensure that inventory is in place to meet revenue shipments for systems and consumable shipments, and 2–4-hour service levels for service inventory by collaborating with logistics, field service management, customer service and sales and marketing. This also includes ability to rebalance inventory across distribution locations to allocate appropriate inventory throughout European network and identify and communicate potential customer backorder and work with teams to mitigate back orders.
  • This position works cross functionally with SIOP planning/production planning/distribution planning and logistics to coordinate replenishment shipments based on material availability and work through allocation processes.  This includes perform root cause analysis for all fill rate misses and for inventory shortages, and implementing corrective actions to drive improved performance, and reporting on these actions to EMEA and global stake holder.
  • Track all European returns through distribution process and recommend scrap and return to factory by working with Logistics and planning teams.
  • Understand trade compliance, European regulatory requirements, Supply Chain and Distribution lead time assumptions, carrier processes and lead-times along with key material master attributes to drive material to correct stocking locations.
  • Review plan changes and metrics and take appropriate actions to mitigate customer impact. This includes reviewing and understanding ECO cuts ins, supply constraints (allocation), field actions, regulatory changes or allocation issues.
  • Ownership of all European distribution planning communication and escalation based on exception reporting to material shortages, target setting, allocation issues to SIOP planning, production planning, logistics and EU order management teams. This includes reviewing KPI and attending weekly meetings for regional alignment for both service and revenue planning.
  • Participates in cross functional projects to increase efficiencies in distribution planning processes and leads the communication of project updates to cross functional groups.  This can be blue printing participation, creating KPI definitions, URS for reports, user acceptance testing for system implementations and changes, and documenting processes.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • BS degree or 5-8 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning/Distribution Planning/Logistics Planning
  • SAP or Oracle in MRP, Supply Chain Planning, Distribution Planning or Logistics.   Advanced planning and order management experience a plus
  • Ability to understand the math behind demand/safety stock calculations/Replenishment, component and processing leadtimes and STO creations
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data for reports and apply mathematic techniques in practical situations.
  • Excellent and fluent written and verbal required English skills.  Knowledge of more European languages is desired  
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with little to no supervision and manage multiple, high-priority assignments and meet firm deadline.
  • Experience working for a Global organization across multiple functions, regions and time zones is required. This requires some flexibility on time differences.
  •  Proficient in Word/Power Point and advance skills in Excel or tableau
  • APICs or equivalent supply chain training
