Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
Provide overall leadership for the team responsible for manufacturing of Instruments, Accessories and Endoscopes including sub-assemblies used in robotic assisted surgical equipment. Serve as the leader on all strategic and operational objectives to ensure a reliable supply of high-performance products and financial goals.
This key management role will be tasked to effectively lead and develop resources required to support global growth of Intuitive operations. Another aspect of this role will be development of infrastructure responding to growing demand for advanced exchange product, ongoing efficiency enhancement of production and assembly and implementation of advanced business systems. Proven experience achieving results through delegating and managing wide range of individuals is required. For this function a full time on site is requested.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Support the Mission, Vision and Shared Values of Intuitive Surgical.
- Achieve manufacturing and inventory plan consistently while managing cost and without compromising quality and compliance to regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement metrics to track progress against operational and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with other functional areas to ensure alignment of goals and priorities. Key functional teams to align with include Engineering, NPI, Purchase, Planning, Human Resources, Finance, Quality and global operations
- Ensure availability of needed capacity short term and long term to meet increasing demand for existing products and for the launch of new products
- Identify and drive implementation of projects designed to improve efficiency, reduce cost, improve quality, increase flexibility, and increase capacity. Proposed projects shall be based on sound financial analysis and clearly articulated business needs.
- Create strategies to support team development and continued growth of employees.
- Play an active role in developing annual operating plans including budgets, goals and strategies to achieve.
- Monitor compliance to budgets and take timely corrective actions as needed to stay on track.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal and international regulations.
- Work with Regulatory and Quality Departments in order to meet all regulatory compliance needs.
- Develop metrics to support business requirements and monitor trends of the operation.
- Active role in further driving EHS activities with the goal for 0 accidents.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum BS in engineering or similar
- Preferred MS in engineering or similar
- Proven track record including a minimum of 10+ years of experience leading manufacturing teams preferred in regulated production such as medical, automotive or aerospace
- Experience working for an International corporation
- Experience with building a manufacturing facility from greenfield
- A driven leader, who is organized, a problem solver, a good team person who can motivate their staff and delegate to their team leaders who will then delegate to the wider team
- Proven experience and track record regarding process improvement of complex manufacturing systems
- Strong technical analytical skills including Value Stream Mapping, FMEA, statistical methods, and six sigma techniques
- Experience in Medical Device manufacturing or in regulated businesses like automotive or aviation
- Able to foster a culture of enthusiasm and engagement in challenging and meaningful manufacturing operations work in an inclusive environment
- Hands-on ego-less leader, willing to work shoulder-to-shoulder with manufacturing employees
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must in Bulgarian an English
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project programs
- Strong SAP and Tableau skill is desirable
