Job Description

Primary Function:

Intuitive designs and manufactures highly complex mechanical systems for use in surgery. The Machine Shop is responsible for providing support to development, engineering and manufacturing. This support includes both internal fabrication and modification of mechanical components.

We are a small team seeking a skilled machinist who has good communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate should be capable of high quality work on a variety of machine shop equipment and must be a team player with a “can do” attitude.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Making high precison parts and working closely with other team members in a fast paced environment
  • Program setup/operate Prototrak Mill, Prototrak Lathe and Hardinge
  • Precision measuring and inspection
  • Maintaining organized and clean work areas
  • Interpret and understand technical drawings and CAD files
  • Operate band saws and other shop equipment
  • Assist in fabricating prototype components and assemblies in support of product development with other team members
  • Modify production materials as required per rework instructions
  • Machining small and intricate parts from various metals and plastics

Qualifications

Required Education and Training

  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in an engineering development environment as a machinist
  • Minimum High school diploma from a vocational technical high school, completion of an apprenticeship program or community college / technical school training program

Required Skills and Experience

  • Ability to work with all general shop equipment including: grinders, saws, drills, etc.
  • Mastercam experience is preferred
  • Ability to multitask and stay on task through completion
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Capable of planning jobs and set-ups to a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to perform accurate inspections and verification  
  • Experience interpreting drawings, charts, sketches and specifications for parts to be machined
  • Knowledge of the machining properties of various materials

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $88,600 USD - $119,800 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $75,300 USD - $101,900 USD
