Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION

The Group Product Manager, Ion Endoluminal Global Product Management will be responsible for product management of Ion, a novel robotic technology for lung access and Ion’s entry and product ramp in key global markets. This includes executing high-impact projects to elevate the capabilities of future Ion platforms, working closely with global customers and field teams to capture voice of customer as well as field team collaboration to ensure optimal customer experience with existing products.  Working across multiple product franchises, in multiple geographies, and in collaboration with multiple cross-functional stakeholders across Product Operations and regional Commercial functions, this individual also will have a unique breadth and story-telling platform, tying the value-proposition of multiple products into a cohesive and compelling story that ranges across the portfolio lifecycle (from launch to end-of-life).

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Downstream Global Product Management

  • Understand external customers’ (i.e. clinicians/KOLs, reprocessing teams, hospitals and payors) and internal customers’ (i.e. Field Sales, Customer Support, Field Engineering and Services) needs to identify and develop in-market and product development solutions.
  • Lead Product Management in the global SIOP process (Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning) process, working closely with each region, manufacturing and operations, forecasting SKUs.  Also, allocating products, when needed, with launch ramps or supply constraints.
  • Monitor and prioritize global product quality issues working with our regional teams and customers within each region. Work on cross-functional teams to resolve product issues and critical customer issues to optimize customer experience with Intuitive and Ion products, services and solutions .
  • Leverage and implement ecosystem solutions with existing customers, with internal alignment on prioritization of these solutions and services as part of the annual planning process.

Business Analysis

  • Conduct regional product forecasting with the finance team
  • Identify opportunities for product improvements by analyzing product return data and complaints information
  • Integrate voice-of-customer and field intelligence into the product roadmap development

Product Rollout and Launch

  • Represent our regional teams and customers to propose global product feature updates, and next-generation products and services aligned with customer needs and company’s long-term targets:
    • Identify and clearly articulate unmet customer needs
    • Evaluate fit or prototype product solutions
    • Evaluate critical business requirements and potential product impact
  • Build awareness of existing in-market products and services that may be underutilized by the existing customer base
  • Collaborate with regional teams to refine product positioning and establish claims, messaging and pricing
  • Ensure execution of a smooth product rollout process within key regions.
  • Measure global and regional product success by monitoring product adoption and seeking post-launch product feedback.
  • Partner with in-region counterparts to develop and implement specific product launch and product cycle activities.

Roadmap Development

  • Serve as conduit between global field and product management teams by providing real-time insights from the global customer and field-based teams
  • Develop a deep understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer and future clinical spaces, including monitoring and consuming clinical literature, attending global medical society meetings and engaging with physician key opinion leaders.
  • Understand competitive, emerging and complementary technology, particularly within regions, and its impact on Intuitive’s endoluminal product lines.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative market research. Direct customer interviews (patients, HCPs & their care team, providers and payers) and observations to develop insights and inform the product roadmap.
  • Participate in the product roadmap process, in alignment with the company’s long-term objectives. Develop business justification for recommendations and gain alignment across key stakeholders on project prioritization.

Team Management

  • Hire, onboard, manage and develop a team of Product Managers

Qualifications

REQURED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years of professional experience with at least 2 years of experience in medical device product management, product marketing or product sales
  • Strong relationship builder
  • Can synthesize information to inform a value-driven portfolio narrative
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior management and customers.
  • Self-starter with ability to take leadership in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to prioritize and smoothly manage multiple tasks.
  • Agility to pivot focus to meet evolving customer needs and shifting market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to work across disparate parts of an organization to deliver results.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in science, engineering, or business.
  • Well-versed in MS Office Suite, Tableau, Salesforce

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to work in surgical labs and hospital patient care areas is required.
  • Ability to travel 40-50%. International travel is be required.
  • The position is located at Intuitive Headquarters in Sunnyvale, California.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Masters degree in life science, engineering or business discipline preferred
  • Hands-on data analysis skills. Demonstrated ability to use data to develop market and product insights and drive decision making.
  • Experience with in one of these areas preferred: medical software, capital equipment, flexible catheters, robotics.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $176,500 USD - $254,100 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $150,100 USD - $215,900 USD
Shift: Day
Travel: 50% of the time
Workplace Type: Onsite - This job is fully onsite.
