Job Description
The Senior Analyst, Corporate Accounting is a highly visible position that plays a critical role in achieving our overall objective of delivering best-in-class financial reporting and building a best-in-class finance department. The Senior Analyst, Corporate Accounting, leads our Compensation and Fringe Benefits accounting and supports developing and executing long-term plans for how to take our accounting operations to the next level.
The Company’s operations have grown significantly over the years, and with it, the level of complexity our accounting organization is facing. This role offers a great opportunity to work closely with a wide range of the Company’s organization, including domestic accounting, payroll operations, benefits and FP&A teams to implement the infrastructure needed to effectively and efficiently scale the Company’s systems and accounting and reporting processes.

Role and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Sr. Analyst, Corporate Accounting (Compensation and Fringe) include:
- Responsible for recording Payroll, CIP Bonus, fringe benefits, related cash activities and other compensation and fringe entries, as well as month-end account reconciliations on a monthly basis. In addition, responsible for and own other close activities including preparation and/or review of journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, supplemental monthly reportin schedules and balance sheet/income statement variance analysis in accordance with the Company's close calendar.
- Perform monthly and quarterly trend analyses, coordinate with US payroll, accounting, finance, stock administration and benefits teams to resolve any discrepancies at month-end closing and present results to management
- Draft policies, guidelines, desktop procedures, and work instructions to support successful implementation of new projects or enhancements
- Understand the company’s operating model and objectives and how they translate into the need for efficient, standardized, scalable business processes, organizational structures, and operations. Initial focus on end-to-end payroll process
- Analyze existing processes, including documentation of existing and future flows. Define and recommend roadmap for process improvement initiatives
- Lead the design and execution of “to-be” processes; work with IT and Subject Matter Experts to collect, define and implement and re-design core processes – define and align business requirements with other business users. Lead testing scope, review results of user acceptance testing, and create implementation plan
- Lead and present project updates to management and cross-functional teams to enable project alignment
- Identify areas for improvement on internal processes and controls to develop efficiencies within compensation and fringe accounting and other related processes
- Support reviewing and updating accounting methodologies utilized in the accounting processes such as employee benefit plans, CIP bonus, etc.
- Responsible for, together with the Corporate Accounting department, ensuring that we meet our month-end/quarter-end close responsibilities and deadlines
- Assist the Corporate Accounting Team and other accounting and finance departments in implementing strong processes, systems, and procedures to drive efficiencies and high-quality financial reporting
- Support internal and external audit requests and SOX testing requests timely and accurately
- Assist in the identification of automation opportunities across the Compensation and Fringe accounting process and develop solutions using various automation tools such as RPA, excel-automation, SQL, etc.
Qualifications
Skill/Job Requirements:
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to drive for resolution
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- 5+ years of industry experience in payroll and benefits accounting (experience in Corporate Accounting in large multi-national companies is a plus)
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting theory
- Detail-oriented, organized, motivated and able to function in a fast-paced environment, especially during quarter-end reporting periods
- Knowledge of SAP, Hyperion, EDW and ADP is preferred
- Strong fundamental process knowledge (payroll operations, benefits accounting, stock-based compensation) and related internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills
- Familiarity with automation tools such as RPA, excel-automation, SQL, etc. is a plus
