Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
Laboratory Services (LS) supports the operation of training labs, focusing on animal welfare, employee safety and efficiency.
The primary duties of the Animal Health Technologist 2 are to provide basic technical and operational support in anesthesia management on laboratory animals under the supervision of veterinarians.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Animal Management: Receiving, Physical Examination, Placement of Various Catheters, Intubation, Transportation in lab, Repositioning, Anesthesia Induction and Management, etc.
- Monitoring and Trouble Shooting for Regular Clinical Cases
- Reporting Abnormal findings to Veterinarians
- Inventory Management for Consumables
- Cleaning of Lab Areas
- Document Management in Accordance with Department Operating Procedures (DOP) and Work Instructions (WI)
- Perform other duties as required to support the company's overall strategy and goals
Qualifications
Skill/Job Requirements:
- Licensed Veterinary Nurses for Companion Animals (VNCA) , Certified Laboratory Animal Technician (SLAT or JLAT), or Experience in Laboratory Animal Related Works (more than 1 year)
- Good Communication (Written, Verbal) and Documentation Skills
- Cooperative Attitude to Occupational Health and Safety Program Activities: Participation in Trainings provided by Intuitive
- Promote animal welfare demonstrates commitment to personal responsibility and value for animal welfare; communicates concerns
- Knowledge of Common Applications (Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Must wear personal protective equipment as defined/required by job assignments.
- May be exposed to allergen/biohazard/chemicals (Cautery Smoke).
- Subject to and expected to comply with all applicable Intuitive policies and procedures.
