Job Description

Primary Function of Position:


The Fixed assets analyst 2 position will have the responsibility of monitoring intuitive surgical fixed assets. It will be the analyst’s task to keep track of these assets from the moment they be purchased by the company up to the time they are disposed or sold.

A fixed asset analyst 2 works with the business partners to ensure the timely capitalization of new assets acquired by ISI, Assist in the run of the fixed asset depreciation process. The fixed assets analyst will provide support with external auditors in order to verify if the work done is accurate. Lastly, a fixed asset accountant also collaborates with other departments on special projects.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and enforce ISI’s Fixed Asset policy utilizing existing systems and established processes, procedures and controls. Update related documentation as required
  • Capitalize Fixed Assets (Property, Machinery & Equipment, Computer Hardware, Software, etc.) ensuring proper classification of expenditures as Capital vs. expense, validate useful lives, investigate discrepancies and resolve issues
  • Process Assets Transfer and Disposal Requests timely and accurately
  • Support Capital Expenditure Aging Reviews for Fixed Assets and Asset-related projects by conducting routine reviews with business partners and producing an Aging Analysis report
  • Perform various month-end/quarter-end close activities in order to meet our close deadlines including posting of Elimination entries for Inter-company Mark-up as well as assisting in the preparation of the monthly Fixed Asset Reporting package
  • Actively coordinate and communicate with the accounting/finance teams of the Company’s foreign subsidiaries and outside service providers throughout the monthly close process.
  • Interface with external auditors of the foreign subsidiaries for statutory and other local audit requirements
  • Continually report upon established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure compliance with policies and procedures and work with stakeholder partners to monitor effectiveness of procedures
  • Support internal and external audit requests and SOX testing requests timely and accurately
  • Actively identify opportunities for process improvement and identify opportunities for automation within the existing system infrastructure
  • Assist with strategic initiatives/projects and ad-hoc projects as required

 

Qualifications

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

  • University degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
  • CPA and big 4 experience is a plus.
  • 3 plus years of experience in accounting or related field.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have demonstrated ability to work well with others.
  • Strong interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast paced and limited resource environment
  • Experience with SAP ERP environment preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook required
  • English 80%
