Job Description

Primary Function of Position

Deliver significant improvements in labor efficiency, capacity, cost, manufacturability for robotic surgical instruments and accessories.

The Industrial Engineering Manager is responsible for setting, measuring and monitoring production standards, space planning and plant layouts; determining the plant capacity for the Mexicali site; leading and coaching Industrial Engineers on their tasks and activities, and evaluating results.

  • Coordinate annual study for future Space needs to cover the needs for operations.
  • Coordinate the establishment and maintenance of production standards.
  • Validate the direct head count provided by production, based on the forecast of the following year.
  • Design and maintain the measurement system that indicates the efficiency level of the production lines.
  • Promote and lead initiatives focused on improving productivity based on the latest data from processes.
  • Control and maintain lay outs of Mexicali plants, their changes and ensure accuracy vs the shopfloor.
  • Establish the plan for additional lines that allow to comply with the volume of production.
  • Establish the maximum capacity per production line as support to the S & OP process (Sales & Operations Planning).
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of Ergonomic improvements in the workstations, ensuring their alignment with other ISI sites.
  • Coordinate the process to determine the proposals with the objective of establishing the plant layout of the IS Mexicali plant.
  • Coordinate training for the development of talent in the training program for Jr. Engineers.
  • Monitor the progress and fulfillment of the activities of direct reports.
  • Provide staff growth and development plan.
  • Conduct evaluation for the annual MERIT grant, providing feedback to direct reports.
  • Perform mentoring activities for direct reports (1:1 meetings).
  • Drive our Culture Strategy by fostering our mission, founding principles, individual and leadership expectations.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience (Specific skills, knowledge, and experience that an individual must possess in order to successfully perform in job)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as Production Superintendent, Coordinator, or similar and minimum 5 years of experience as Process, Manufacturing or Project Engineer.
  • Experience in international shipping documentation required by Mexico and US Customs agencies.
  • Languages: Advanced English (90%).
  • Systems Management: Intermediate AutoCAD, Intermediate MS Project, Advanced Data Bases, Advanced MS Excel, SAP, Minitab, Agile.
  • Minimum 2 years of Project Management, Production lines balancing.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Leadership, Proactive, Organized, Staff management and Planning skills.

  • Professional Career @ Industrial, Manufacturing, Process, Electronic, Mechanical or Production Engineering.

Preferred Skills and Experience (As applicable - Specific skills, knowledge, and experience that are not required to perform the job, but are desirable to have)

  • Other Studies: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Certification (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the medical industry (preferred).
