Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The Customer Trainer will report directly to the Customer Training Manager, Taiwan. This training professional will deliver da Vinci® System technology training and facilitate surgeon-led training for surgeons, first assistants, and OR staff from a variety of surgical specialties including urology, gynecology, colorectal surgery, ENT, cardiac, thoracic, and general surgery. The Customer Trainer will be actively involved in the continuous improvement of training programs and provide support for customer trainings and society trainings initiatives.
Essential Job Duties
- Conduct as the trainer for da Vinci® Surgical System training programs to surgical teams and care teams at designated training centers and remote centers
- Develop competency in the following:
- da Vinci® System Technology
- da Vinci® System applications and advanced technology
- OR Efficiency
- Training Pathway process
- Training/coaching techniques/methodologies
- Lead one or more marketing verticals by specialty to conduct advanced training for surgical teams; design agendas as needed and obtain regulatory approval, and supporting the needs of the surgeon educators and course participants
- Cultivate key opinion leader as host trainer for advanced training
- Identify high volume users and opinion leaders who have the potential to lead courses
- Vet potential surgeon leads for capacity, personality, and willingness to be coached and maximize their impact by placing them in positions of need
- Provide feedback to existing hosts on delivery, presentation, and lab execution
- Collaborate with marketing counterparts on host selection, forecasting and planning
- Conduct surveys to gather data and measure program effectiveness
- Act as subject matter expert for internal projects, as needed
- New product development
- Training material/ protocol development
- Training research initiatives
- Facilitate and support internal/external training events, marketing events, society events, VIP sessions, and exhibit halls
- Work with the Training team in a creative, dependable, and flexible manner to improve existing training programs
- Occasional support of the da Vinci® System in a hospital operating room
- Support da Vinci® Surgical System troubleshooting and maintenance at the training center
- Manage training center logistics, inventory and training calendars
- Maintain all capital equipment, including but not limited to the cleaning and sterilization of instruments and accessories
- Support positive relationships between external training center personnel and ISI management
- Contribute to the organization’s goal achievements
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 2-5 yrs. Professional Training experience
- Proven experience training on complex topics and/or technology
- Excellent oral and written communication skills - Mandarin plus English
- Solid organizational skills and ability to operate independently
- High capacity and excellent problem solving skills
- Professional work ethic
- Strong interpersonal skills
- High capacity to learn in a fast paced environment
- Commitment self-development
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to be flexible with hours of operation
- Ability to travel up to 30%
Required Education and Training
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Clinical or Health Sciences, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Communications or Education
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Clinical and/or operating room experience preferred
- Medical-device experience preferred
- Knowledge of adult learning principles preferred
